Encountered a guy 40-boxing in AV. Talk about Forever alone! (We won btw!)

I play on Aegwynn, and this guy is the biggest douchebag I have ever encountered in game.

Perhaps the best example of this are his alliance toons; he has a number of alliance characters, and will often carry on conversations between them in trade chat about his horde toons, as if we didn't know it was him.

"Alliance 1: Wow I can't believe how good that Prepared guy is, he dominates the alliance on this server.

Alliance 2: Yeah! He's probably the best PvPer in all of wow"

I'm not making this shit up, it's embarrassing. He also does shit like taking his alliance toons to TB so that he can AFK/take up spots and then report alliance positions and strats to horde. Any time he is challenged to a duel, he refuses to only play 1 character v 1 character - he claims that since he is the only person controlling his toons, he should be able to control them all (that's his definition of 1v1).

We've reported/submitted tickets for years and he continues to do this shit every day. I can only assume this his $500+ monthly check to Blizzard is the only thing saving him.

Killing the headless horseman before level 85

This is my little guide how to kill the headless horseman before you hit level 85. (for example if you have a level 60/70pvp character or something like that)

  1. Queue with your 85 and some friends for the headless horseman, make sure that your friend is the partyleader by checking the option at the dungeonfinder.
  2. Leave the group and logg on your alt.
  3. Your friend can invite your alt even if he is below level 85.
  4. Port yourself into the dungeon by using the icon at the minimap
  5. Simply let your group kill the headless horseman
  6. Enjoy your achievment

p.s. You won't be able to get the extra reward, but it's a nice way to get a cool title with your alt.

Leaked Mists of Pandaria Battlegrounds

Datamined Battlegrounds from the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.
This video will show you in-game footage of the new PvP grounds: STV Diamond Mine and Azshara Crater.
This content is LEAKED and therefore not supposed to be released yet!

video

Battleground Information:

STV Diamond Mine is a Goblin Mine below northern STV. Battleground will introduce payload style gameplay where you need to escort mine cars to a depot.

There are multiple tracks, you will get a lot of options and you will be able to decide which way you want the cart to go.

First faction to reach an X amount of resources wins. STV Diamond Mine map:

Azshara Crater is going to be a DotA gameplay style battleground. The main goal is to make it to the enemy base and destroy it.

This is done by the help of creature waves of your own faction. There are lanes with towers protecting the bases which you need to take down. To learn more about the DotA genre, please visit Dota (genre).

PS. Yes, I misspelled Azshara in my video, but seriously, after so many hours of making, converting and uploading it I just couldn't be arsed to change it

Deconstructing a nasty Chinese World of Warcraft phishing scheme

Phishing is the art of attempting to extract personal information from a victim through the art of misdirection and misrepresentation. The victim thinks he’s on a Web site or getting an email from a trusted party, when he’s actually accessing a cleverly constructed simulacrum of the original site.

Today, I got a nasty phishing email from what purported to be Blizzard, makers of World of Warcraft. I’ve been an avid WoW player on and off since its original beta in 2005. I’ve had my account on hold for the last six months or so, because I’ve been so very busy.

Even though I’ve been on Horde hiatus, when I got an email offer from “Blizzard Entertainment [Newsletter@email.blizzard.com]” with the subject “World of Warcraft Mount: Winged Guardian”, I was curious. I like flying mounts.

But when I opened the email, I noticed that the image at the top of the message was missing. It had a nice graphic celebrating Blizzard’s 20 year anniversary, and even more interesting, it had text implying that if I filled out a survey, I’d get the mount.

Like I said, I like in-game mounts. But as a cyber-security adviser, I’ve seen a lot of phishing attempts and this smelled just like phish. First, the top image was missing. Second, although it was relatively well written, there were a few missing words and a few extra line breaks.

I decided to take a few simple steps to see what I could find out. These are steps you can take as well whenever you’re suspicious. First, I right clicked on the message and chose Message Options in Outlook. This is how you get the message header in Outlook. Other clients will show you the header in other ways.

I looked through the header and — on the surface — it all looked good:Received: from email.blizzard.com ([81.12.212.190]) by exprod7mx233.postini.com ([64.18.6.14]) with SMTP;

Postini (one of the layers in my anti-spam protection stack) received the message from a domain it thought was email.blizzard.com and passed it on to my inbox. But where, exactly, is 81.12.212.190? One of the fastest ways to find the owner of an IP address (about 60% of the time) is running a tracert. As it turns out, 81.12.212.190 resolves to syscom18.info. Now, thatdoesn’t seem like Blizzard!

I did a quick Google search on syscom18.info and found references to “Indonezia” and Romania, and a lot of non-English text:

It’s becoming clear this message was extremely unlikely to have originated from Blizzard.

Then I decided to look inside the source of the email message. From Outlook, I went up to Other Actions on the ribbon, and selected View Source. Your email client will likely give you another way to view the source.

Once I had the source open in an editor, I did a search on HREF. The key to phishing is to get you to click on a link, so HREF will show you the domains to look for. Here, I found a reference to the domain account-log1n.net. Notice how, even here, they’re trying to make the domain seem real with the battle.net subdomains and even the naming of account-log1n seeming like “account-login”:

A quick GoDaddy Whois search turned up registry information for an account located in Liaoning, a province in the northeast of China:

Final thoughts

I’ve regularly talked about the risks we face with China. We know that China operates the Great Firewall of China, and so I have a very hard time believing that these phishing activities take place without at least some approval of the Chinese government.

This infuriates me and is one of the reasons I’ve put so much time and effort into advising our government leaders and national security professionals about the risks of cyberattack, cyberwarfare, and cyberterrorism.

The Internet is a wonderful thing, but there are nasty actors out there. Hopefully, I’ve shown you a few simple ways you can deconstruct suspicious phishing attacks.

It’s a shame that we have to be as paranoid as we do, but as my recent conversation with Dr. Jon Warner of Argonne National Labs reinforced, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.

To make matters worse, about four hours later, I got an email that I verified to actually be from Blizzard saying, “David — Return to World of Warcraft With 14 Days of Game Time”. Sigh.

As the late, great Sergeant Phil Esterhaus used to say, “Hey, let’s be careful out there.”

Blizzard: WoW Won't Be Going Free-To-Play

Despite an evolving MMO marketplace, World of Warcraft is sticking to its subscription blunderbusses.

If there's been any major change to the MMO genre in the past few years it's been the adoption of the free-to-play business model. Not only are countless new MMOs using the micro-transaction pay scheme from the get-go, but some of the big boy contenders that started with subscriptions have even converted after launch; Games like DC Universe Online, Age of Conan, and Star Trek Online have all stopped asking their players to mail in a check every month. According to Blizzard president Mike Morhaime, World of Warcraft won't be quite as quick to jump on the bandwagon.

"I think that there's an underlying, a fundamental, assumption right now that the less you charge, the more money you make ... which isn't true. And it doesn't necessarily make for a better game," Morhaime said. "I mean, everybody likes free... I think that definitely, players have seen a lot of really great quality free-to-play experiences, but I'm not sure it's the best model for us right now."

WoW has seen a slow but steady decline in its subscription numbers for the past year, but Morhaime refuses to give into external game analyst predictions that WoW may be forced to adopt the free model at some point soon. According to him, quality is king, and WoW is synonymous with quality.

"For us, and even for EA with the Star Wars game, I think that the value that you get for the $15 a month is just unmatched," he said. "I don't think you can get that amount of entertainment value anywhere. I'd put the $15 up against anything.

"Definitely, if you're not charging anybody, [players] are going to be a lot more forgiving about the experience they have. They haven't paid anything. So in terms of developers entering the market, I can understand why a lot of games might choose to go free-to-play."

Zing! It almost sounds like Morhaime is implying that free-to-play games only use the model to get away with offering lower quality content. Still, many games (such as the upcoming MMO, FireFall) are pushing the limits what we've come to expect from free-to-play titles. If they can match WoW's quality pixel for pixel, Morhaime might have to reconsider his argument.

In lieu of changing its price, WoW has been trying some other ideas to keep the game on top, such as a new expansion featuring the long-clamored-for Pandaren race, and offering promotions aimed at rewarding loyal players with major bonuses like free copies of upcoming Diablo 3. Regardless of the game's recent "decline," love it or hate it, WoW is still on top by a long shot, and they didn't get there by not understanding the marketplace.

World of Warcraft: Guilds Can Now Transfer Servers And Factions

Are you one of the numerous World of Warcraft players who has noticed that you’ve put a lot of time into your guild, only to see that your server favors the other faction? All too often we get into a guild and level a toon that we’ve gotten close to, only to see that the opposite faction is running the server. This means that the Auction House has better items for them, they run the Battlegrounds, and more than likely there are more of them lying in wait to attack when you least expect it.

Blizzard has a way to remedy this, and now they’re offering guilds to not only transfer across servers, but factions as well. Right now the changes are available to a select few servers, but Blizzard is working on getting this feature to roll across all active servers as soon as possible. In order to request the change, guild leaders will need to gather the cash to make their requests complete. Changing factions will run $40, changing realms will be $35, a guild name change runs $20, and bundling a realm and faction transfer will run $65, saving $10.

Everything that will accompany these changes will be the guild master, bank, level, perks, and achievements. This means that all other guild members will have to pony up their own cash in order to make the move. Once the guild leader moves across faction or server, everyone who has been left in their wake will be in a level one guild with the same name, with nothing to their name. So, if there is a decision made, it would be wise to run it by all members before it’s implemented. If you’re looking for something new, however, this may be your calling card.

Embersilk cloth farming uldum pyramid

1. a Prot Warrior whith [Glyph of victory rush]

2. a 80+ caracter with Tailoring [Northern Cloth Scavenging].
(what I usually do is to go /2 Looking for leveling tailor 80 min to PL).

3. You need to go to Uldum, North West there's a pyramid with packs of mobs (9 trashs 1 elite).

4. You need to use [Potion of Treasure Finding].

5. You basicly kill all the mobs with the warrior and let the tailor loot behind you ( you need to be both under potion).

tips:
The Elite mob death triggers the repop of the pack so you wanna go straight killing this mob 1st.
You can do a run of pyramid in 7min with a average 359 ilvl warrior without fearing to die because of Victory rush. With practice you'll be able to do it in 5min with the repop and get more loots ( 80 mobs ).
You need to have a second shield into inventory (the 1st one will be out of durability after 30min)
You wanna chain pull when elite is down in order to maximize your dps via reveng buff.

What you'll get after 1 hour farming (average on 51 runs so far)
(divide in 2 if you farm with a friend)
1. [Embersilk cloth] = 600 (yes 600)
2. Green Items = 6-10.
3. Volatile (X) = 16-40 (random volatile).
4. Money = 200 (grey items/money on mobs/money in the chests)
5. Ores = 15-17 (mostly pyrium).

I hope you'll appreciate me sharing this tip, if you need some explaination I'll try and give you some.

This can be done by other class but the prot warrior is definitly the most effective to do it if you practice you can be able to kill 750 mobs per hour.

Exploiting the goldbuyers that use AH

As of now, quite a few goldselling sites offer the possibility of delivery of through the AH. I've found this to be quite interesting, because well, yeah, it makes it literally possible for EVERYONE to see who buys gold, and how much.

Now where is the trick? Well, its simple really. Search your AH with no search words, browse with a descending price level, I.e you click "minimum bid" twice so the most expensive auctions come up first. Then you click yourself next quite a few times until you come to the region of 4-2k. These are the steps you will most probably find people buying gold at:

4000g, 3500g, 3000g, 2500g, 2000g

Look for a repeating auction, i.e fresh spring water posted 10 times, at the price of 3000 gold.

After having located one of these guys that is obviously trying to buy gold, create a character with a nickname that resembles the one of the person trying to buy gold, and then have this character summoned or in any means transported to a AH town, and then post the same items with that character.

Lets look at some pictures.

In the picture below, we can see a person that has posted a load of weapons for 4k. I mean, come an, this one is a nobrainer. Ofc the guys is buying gold.

In the picture below, we see the scam at work, I've created a character with a B as first letter, whilst the guy who is trying to buy gold actually named he's character with the German double "ss" letter. I'm not sure it will work, but I'm giving it a try.

My most recent trap is depicted below, if you have an eye for detail, you will see that the single top auction is actually with a tweaked letter "i", making it horribly hard for the goldsellers to part the two people selling the jerky. The reason I only have 1 auction out there atm is because my other 11 auctions sold, netting me a neat lil 22k gold.

There are a few tricks of the trade you might want to pick up when doing this. I'll try to compile a list of tricks that will help you in this endeavour, as they are posted by others as well.

When searching on a special auction, for instance a white weapon, and everyone in the AH field of view has the same price, the AH seems to arrange the auctions by alphabetical order, meaning the character 'e' would come before 'é'. I am not 100% sure of this tho, but it has appeared this way every time I've posted thus far.

prospecting and milling with WoW in the background. [Risk Free]

Something that I've come to accept over all my years of writing guides and making gold, is that despite how ever much you possibly know - you will ALWAYS be limited by the shear quantity of activities that needs to be done. When you start out and maybe have 50k gold or think 100k gold is a lot, it may be fine to sit around and mill for half an hour for those 50 glyphs or prospect for an hour to get those gems. But as your gold amount increases, the more you are able to invest but also the more you need to process.

You get to a point where you simply cannot healthily or practically sit and prospect or mill or craft for 5-8 hours a day in order to keep up with your supply and to accelerate your gold acquisition at an acceptable pace. You eventually need to turn to easier methods such as this, which while is not illegal according to Blizzard's ToS/EULA, it does take the initial fun away from making gold which is why I've chosen to post this in the Elite Section rather than anywhere else.

AutoHotKey has been around for ages now but I've always been so hesitant to get involved with it since it is so very well known for it's automation ability which is against Blizzard's ToS or EULA - something which I ironically (in terms of where I'm posting this right now) stay clear of, but over the last year or two it has become extremely popular via the huge multi-boxing community and a few other uses.

This tutorial will help you setup AutoHotKey to send the keypress "=" into World of Warcraft every time there is movement on your mouse, even if you are busy browsing the internet withwow in the background.

Alright well head over to the AHK Download Page and download the appropriate version for you. You can choose between the .exe file or a zip file as well.

Start up the installation wizard, accept the ToS and select Main Program and Script Compiler as components to install. Continue through the basic installation and skip showing the help file unless you really want to.

When you start it up the first time it will give you a message saying "To help you get started, would you like to create a sample script in the My Documents folder?". Click Yes.

It will now open a notepad file which is the script, it has some basic instructions to help you understand it. Delete it all and replace it with this script:

Code:
#persistent coordmode, mouse, screen mousegetpos, sx, sy settimer, check, 4000 return ;*** Pause Script *** ~=::Pause check: mousegetpos, cx, cy if (cx != sx or cy != sy) { ; mouse has moved, calculate by how much if (cx > (sx+2) or cx < (sx-2) or cy > (sy+2) or cy < (sy-2)) { ControlSend,,1,World of Warcraft mousegetpos, sx, sy ; get new mouse position } } return

Credits go to Jenzali for the script - I only added a pause script keybind and modified it to send the keypress every 4 seconds rather than 1 second since it takes about 2.5-3 seconds on average to prospect and loot. Added 1 extra second because I don't want to spam the command too quickly. You can change the line "settimer, check, 4000' down to 3000 if you want it quicker.

The red = is what pauses and unpauses the script. Replace it with what ever you want.
The red 1 is the keypress it sends to wow. Replace it with what ever you want.

Once you have the script pasted in there save the file and close it. You will now need to start AHK again (the first time was it just set it all up etc). Every time you modify the script you need to restart AHK or select "reload this script" from it's menu that you will see in a second.

When you start it up again now, it should start automatically running and you will see a green and white "H" icon in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Right click it and you will see the following options:

The only ones you need to know are:
Reload This Script - reloads the script currently chosen, must use it if you make any edits while the script is loaded.

Edit This Script - opens up that text file again allows you to make quick changes.

Pause Script - pauses the script (will show a tick next to the option) and prevents it from running. I do this when I run out of ore/herbs and need to fetch more or have to clear bag spaces etc. It's pointless to have the script running when you have nothing to process. Click the option again to start it again.
Exit - yeah use your imagination.
What we are doing here IS perfectly legitimate and allowed. It has been confirmed over and over again. HOWEVER Blizzard DOES use their own form of Automation (ironic isn't it?) in order to detect cheaters. As far as I can find there has been no case where a player has been banned/suspended for using AHK (because wow can't detect it and it's also legitemate).

But if you are seen sitting in the middle of SW for 10 hours only prospecting at exactly even times, then it's possible that someone might report you or Blizzard will pick up the precise prospect every 4 seconds for 10 hours EVERY TIME - which is impossible by human hands for that kind of precision. Hence they may think you are fully automating it and send you a temporary or permanent ban. A quick email explaining what you were doing will get you unbanned within no time.

In order to prevent something like this though, I would recommend opening up a ticket with something along the lines of:

Hello there, I would like to use a macro that sends a keystroke to WoW whenever I move my mouse, but wish to check whether it is ok first.

It requires me to be at the computer, and each keystroke is the direct and immediate result of a human action, me moving my mouse (one-to-one). If I am not at the computer, nothing is sent.

I am wondering if this is legal or if it will get me banned?

Thanks for your time and for such a great game.So that you can get a personal GM response saved on your account chat logs. If you do get banned simply tell Blizzard that you DID check with GM staff and the conversation is in your chat logs with them. You could maybe record the day/time/gm name etc when the GM does contact you in a txt file somewhere on your computer so you can tell them to go look at the chat logs on the 9th of September at 22:35PM server time between you and GM Zaveloolipop.

Funnily enough, my first thought to try and reduce the change of an accidental ban was to add some kind of "cooldown" or random timer between key presses. My friend Stede helped me with some of that code causing it to a slight random delay but have since taken it out because there is some rather cloudy information that adding automatic delays to this legitimate process can turn it into a bannable action. Stede and I both think that the example which refers to this delay being bannable is used a bit out of context and that it probably isn't so, but just to be safe rather don't add anything like that.

Another feature that I wish to add but haven't bothered to look into yet is getting AHK to send the keypress to only ONE of my multiple wow clients open. It is possible but I can't be bothered to figure out how to do it just yet.

To assign a variable to each process id so you can send the keys to a specific client.

idMain and idClone are variable names you can change.

It's all in the Wiki page.Again thank you to:
Jenzali for triggering the discussion and providing the script.
Stede for his insight, expertise and patience in our discussion on IRC.
Parog for pointing me in the right direction for when I do eventually want to get AHK to only send to specific wow windows.

Keep in mind there are many different ways to accomplish this. Prefer to use Keyclone in order to send key presses to an alt account to mill, some prefer to fully automate it. You can quite easily add in some script that automates this process instead of relying on mouse movement.

Or if you want to go the easy route, find something that vibrates and put it next to your mouse. Use your imagination ^.^

Blizzard COO Says Diablo III Offer is a Show of Gratitude to WoW Players

As revealed at Blizzcon last week, players who subscribe to World of Warcraft for a period of one year will be entitled to a free digital copy of Blizzard’s action RPG Diablo III. According to Blizzard COO Paul Sams, this offer is a way to thank subscribers for continuing to support and play their flagship MMO.

“We talk about, all the time, how can we do something cool for our players that’s going to benefit them, benefit us, and that they’ll feel is a give-back of sorts,” Sams said. “That’s where this started. There’s a variety of benefits that come from it. Certainly the players get DIII, which is pretty exciting. That doesn’t mean they get the expansion sets, it means that they get DIII, right? So we get people excited about playing that … they get to touch it, feel it, experience it. And then from our perspective, it also is a situation where they aren’t necessarily going to leave WoW to play our own game.”

The World of Warcraft Annual Pass is available for a limited time and locks players in to a year long subscription, billed monthly. In addition to the free copy of Diablo III, subscribers receive access to theMists of Pandaria beta and the exclusive Tyreal’s Charger mount.

You can read more comments from the Blizzard COO regarding the Mists of Pandaria expansion andDiablo III offer over at VentureBeat.

WoW’s enemy UI to ascertain whether Pandarens are Horde or Alliance in PvP

Blizzard has said PvP players will be able to distinguish whether the neutral Pandarian Monk class in World of Warcraft is fighting for Alliance or Horde by using the game’s enemy UI.

According to Cataclysm’s senior producer Ray Cobo, players running around the world as a Pandaren won’t have to choose a side until they reach level 10, and once that side is chosen, the MMO’s UI takes over.

“We have a UI enemy that helps players tell if they’re looking at an enemy or a friend, and that’s evolved greatly over time,” Cobo explained. “That’s something we’ll be leaning on a little more in terms of the PVP aspects.”

Other ways to distinguish which faction the monk is fighting for are also being considered, other than the standard label atop an enemy’s head.

“It’s something we talk about all the time,” he said. “We might actually have different types of armor sets that you get as Horde or Alliance to differentiate the two factions.”

Possible armor differences aside, Cobo said Blizzard plans to maintain the “the uniqueness and the look of the silhouette of characters.”

S10 Super Easy Arena Rating and Elite gear (or source of gexp)

REQUIREMENTS:
At least two characters at either level 70 or level 80 (different accounts required).

HOW THIS WORKS:
Arena teams can only be created at level 70, 80, and 85 (seems like atleast, not intensively tested)
Arenas can be played in the brackets of 70-79, 80-84, and 85 (not tested below 80)

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  1. With characters at a previous level cap of 70 or 80, create the arena team you want to gain rating on.
  2. Level the characters (you could do this with only one character theoretically because of the level difference) to the top of the arena bracket level cap (79 for a 70 team, 84 for an 80 team).
  3. Que for arena and dominate the usually only lvl 70s or 80s who are queing usually just to see what the arena is like.
  4. Repeat step 3 until desired rating
  5. Level to 85

NOTES:

  • You will not be gaining conquest points at non-85 arena brackets.
  • You will not be gaining personal exp.
  • You will not be gaining honor.
  • You CAN gain gexp and grep.
  • This ISN'T something that will happen overnight. More than likely this will have to be assisted by wintrading if you want a 2.2k+ rating. I haven't gone through all the steps myself (lack enough accounts) but queing against other players will not be quick. There just aren't enough people queing at higher ratings.
  • You will be better off if you wait until you can win your matches at high ratios (90%+) and in winning streaks. If you que below arena bracket cap, you will probably meet higher levels and get owned.

Guide to the hallowed

So you want to become the Hallowed? No Problem! This is actually a really easy achievement and title, a little time consuming, but easy easy easy!

Here are a list of all achievements you need, lets go by them 1 by 1

This is the only real one that will take any of your time up. You have to go to certain points all over Azeroth. Read each one, cause though there is a pumpkin at every inn, you do not have to go to every inn. Just the one's it specifys.

Very easy, very basic. Do the quest from any pumpkin in any inn.

Pretty straight forward, kill the headless horseman, enter dungeon through LFG tool.

Get a tooth pick and use it. Dont buy these, you will get more than enough from traveling azeroth!

After completing each pumpkin quest you get these in a handful of treats. It takes around 10-14 to work. Just right click them one after another

Go to your factions respected starting city (ie Razorhill, Goldshire, Brill) and just do the quest there, at the end you should get this achieve

Again, you should get plenty of these two items through going through Azeroth, dont buy them.

You will get a crap tons of these from Azeroth, so dont worry about trading off with people, in fact you can buy wands now, so just realy need a helping friend.

This is the only one that could be considered "hard" you have to get the jako'laterns, which you can only obtain from the Headless Horseman, or the quest that you douse the fires, and thats only once a day. If you are on a popular server, your in luck, just go to the AH and buy them, they were only 1G on my server, i have only seen them go up to 5g on other servers. Your own faction should be easy, but to get the other one pick up the quest that has you dose the opposite factions burning man, and when your over there easily throw it on their heads

Another easy one, throughout Azeroth you will get the G.N.E.R.D. item, just join a bg, put the buff on and grab honor kills

You will easily get masks throughout your progression through Azeroth, not a problem.

Most of these quests will do a lot of the work for you, but the only tedious one is where you actually have to go to the undercity/stormwind, while your throwing pumpkins on hordes head, just dose that burning man

And thats it! As you can see you can get 85% of the achievements from simply going over Azeroth, and the others just by making pit stops along the way! Enjoy the title! And until next event my friends!

I don't always chat during raids...

The real question is whether to take the time to delete it or just slap Enter and deal with the shame...
i usually just slap enter so the entire group knows why heals stopped lol. Saves the explanation when i can let me mash of 2's and 3's do the talking.

The Random Expeditions: Into the Necropolis of Zeramas

Strangletusk posted his sixth episode in this new sorta-series of his, The Random Expeditions - explorations in the game world that don't really all belong to a set theme, but are cool nonetheless

Another short and simple exploration this week! This is really quite cool though - how to access a gigantic two floor scourge cathedral-like room at the Zeramas necropolis in Zul Drak. The room shares the same model as the one in Voltarus - briefly accessible through a teleporter during a Zul Drak quest line, but it is completely crawling with npcs and the like. You can also use the easy method shown in this episode to access that room after the quest line is complete (the teleporter becomes inactive then). Anyways, this huge, mob-less, NPC-less room is a great place for duelling, guild meetings and generally just chilling out

Teleporting Guide: All over the world!

I usually get sick of travelling around, which caused me to get most ingame teleporting items, so I'm never travelling for more than a few minutes. I'll share these items with you, even though you most likely don't give a shit and will just flame me. Ofcourse there are also (Mage) portals/teleports, but I'm not going to link those since it's.. Well, obviously.

1. Ruby Slippers
These feet port you to your HS set location, however since it shares a cooldown with your hearthstone, it aint good for anything but saving a bag slot.. And thats only if you actually use the feet as normal gear.

2. Direbrew's Remote
This item has a 1 Hour Cooldown and creates a Mole Machine that your whole party can use to teleport to the Grim Guzzlers Inn in BRD. This item drops from Coren Direbrew with a 4% Droprate. He only spawns during Brewfest, however you can always use the item.

3. Argent Crusader's Tabard
This item has a 30minutes cooldown and ports you to the Argent Tournament fields. The item is purchasable only if you're a crusader, and costs 50 Champion's Seals.

4. Runed Band of the Kirin Tor and the various other bands of the Kirin Tor.
These rings port you to Dalaran with a 30minutes cooldown, and this does not share a cooldown with your Heartstone, which makes you able to put your Heartstone somewhere else for even more travelabilities.

5. Wormhole Generator: Northrend
This Engineer-only item enables you to port to any of the Northrend zones (excluding DB and Crystalsong) every 4 hours, enabling you to be able to be all over Northrend in a matter of seconds .

6. Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's Station
Again a Engineer-only item, and this one enables you port to Toshley's Station every 4 hours. As the name states, this item is.... Ultrasafe. Really. No joke. Srsly.

7. Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan
This item is the same as the one before, however this one ports you to Gadgetzan.

8. Frostwolf Insignia rank 1-6 and Stormpike Insignia rank 1-6
These items (horde/alliance) enable you to port to your base while in Alterac Valley. These items don't have a cooldown but since the other stats suck it's better to keep them in your inventory and equip them when you need it, however then it will have a 30seconds cooldown.

9. Hearthstone
This is a very rare and unknown item. It is very hard to obtain and enables you to port to every zone in Azeroth. However, it's so hard to obtain you'd better skip this one.

Quest Teleportation Items

10. Darnarian's Scroll of Teleportation
This item enables you to port from the Isle of Quel'danas to Shattrath, and is obtained from the daily quest Know Your Ley Lines

11. Socrethar's Teleportation Stone
This item enables you to prot to Socrethar's Seat, and is used for the quest Turning Point.

12. Surge Needle Teleporter
If you're in the Moonrest Gardens you can use this to teleport to the Surge Needle, and otherwise back. It is provided by the quest Projections And Plans

13. Blessed Medallion of Karabor
This item with a low 15minutes cooldown teleports you to Shadowmoon Valley, in front of the Black Temple. It is obtained by following the questline which finishes in killing Illidan.

14. Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.
Even though this item is very rare and unobtainable, I'll still mention it. This staff ports you to the entrance of Karazhan.
If I forgot any, please reply in this topic and Ill add em

Edit:
Jaina's Locket
This item creates a portal for you and your portal to Dalaran. When you kill the Lich King with Shadowmourne a chest spawns, which can contain the item to get the quest for this.

Dimensional Ripper - Area 52
Same as the other Engineering Items, but this one ports you to Area 52.

Dimensional Ripper - Everlook
Obviously, this one ports you to Everlook.

[Archmage Vargoth's Staff] quest log trick.

Story time: Once upon a time, I use the [Archmage Vargoth's Staff] for my [/use Archmage Vargoth's Staff /vanish] macro. Ohhhh sweet jesus how I loved that macro, but god damn i hated to keep that quest in my quest log. Then i leveled my mage and got to the quest chain and found away around it

I noticed that [Archmage Vargoth's Staff] is obtainable if you delete it.

You'll need: Carbonite or another quest helper addon that has the right-click abandon function. Example
What to do:
  1. Go to Ravandwyr Ravandwyr - NPC - World of Warcraft
  2. Delete your [Archmage Vargoth's Staff].
  3. Then talk with him and keep the window open. You should see the option "I've lost Archmage Vargoth's Staff. Can you replace it?"
  4. Now right-click on your quest ( in my case "The Sigil of Krasus") and press abandon and make sure you don't close the window.
  5. Now when you have abandoned the quest, press at the "I've lost Archmage Vargoth's Staff. Can you replace it?" option, and you will obtain the Archmage Vargoth's Staff but not the quest.

I think this would work with any other "obtain when lost"quest items

800-1200G IN 10-15MIN in WOLK dungeons

I have been doing this for a while on my realm, its working really really great.

What I do is simply enter 2 of the ICC dungeons (Pit of Saron and The Forge of Souls) You can do Halls of Reflection, but I don't cause the first "event" is kind of long. Well the thing you wants to do in POS and FOS is skip as much trash as you can and solo the all the bosses.

I'm using my dk for this (ilvl390) you DONT have to play blood, the damage output from the bosses is really low so I stay in my frost PVE spec and gear, able to burn each boss down in about 20sec.
The end bosses each drop 2 epics and the rest 1, means you will obtain a total of 7 epics just by doing the 2 first dungeons. The only thing you need to do this is a char with enchanting (445 level) Just "Abyssal Shatter" all the epics you loot, after you disenchanted them.

I used to do this twice in a row with each of my chars (4 runs, 2 of each dungeon)
Be in a guild of level 23 or higher to gain the guild perk as well [Bountiful Bags]

I used to end up with something like this:

These 2 items still sell really really well on most server. The price on my server is avg like this:

  • 1x Infinite Dust = 6-8g
  • 1x Greater Cosmic Essence = 10-12g

Gives us a total of:
80 x 6g = 480g
60 x 10g = 600g
Used lowest price seen on my realm
= 1080g for 10-15min work

The price might be lower or higher on your realm, even if both items sell for ½ of what they do in mine, the amount of g/hour is still really really high if you got 3-4char able to solo both without any problems.

Do the runs on normal, the bosses doesn't drop more epics on HC :] Just high ilvl witch is /care

Blizzard to release gold making World of Warcraft pet

Blizzard has been battling with third-party fold farming outfits for years and have so far failed to stop the practice but a new pet could be the first step.

Going by the name of the Guardian Cub, the World of Warcraft pet will sell for $10USD via the Blizzard store. There is a difference with this pet and previous pet releases, once it's been purchased it can be either gifted to another player or even sold on for gold in the auction house.

Blizzard has basically introduced a round-about way for World of Warcraft players to buy gold for real money through the new pet."While our goal is to offer players alternative ways to add a Pet Store pet to their collection, we’re ok with it if some players choose to use the Guardian Cub as a safe and secure way to try to acquire a little extra in-game gold without turning to third-party gold-selling services. However, please keep in mind that there’s never any guarantee that someone will purchase what you put up for sale in the auction house, or how much they’ll pay for it."

Whether this new pet will have any impact whatsoever on third-party gold sellers it debatable but it’s an interesting move by Blizzard and could open the door for more transferable items to encourage players to move away from the gold selling companies. A problem arises when the market value of the pet plummets due to a saturated market of pets, at which point Blizard will have to come up with something new.

Since the pet was revealed earlier today, many fans are unhappy with the move as Blizzard has been staunchly against the idea of paying for gold in World of Warcraft, at least in public. With World of Warcraft numbers declining, Blizzard are going to squeeze everything they can from the game, and as the numbers continue to drop, their own staunch rules and regulations will start to bend.

Blizzard auctioning off old servers for charity

Blizzard announced today that they'll be holding a series of auctions to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They plan to sell the original Hewlett Packard ProLiant server blades that once housed World of Warcraft realms.

"World of Warcraft realms are like the virtual neighborhoods of the game's community -- they contain the spaces where millions of players have made friendships, forged friendly rivalries, and created lasting memories," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Each winner in this auction will own a small monument to those collective experiences. The best part is that this auction benefits a great charity doing tremendous work in helping children from the U.S. and around the world."

Blizzard plans to auction of 2,000 server blades from around 5000 World of Warcraft realms in Europe and North America. Each server blade will come in a windowed case that lets you view the hardware inside. A plaque signed by theWoW team is also included.

The server blades will be sold in batches through eBay over the next four weeks. The first batch will go on sale starting October 17th. The schedule can be foundhere. It lets you know exactly when blades from each realm will be sold. No doubt a lot of people bidding on these items will have sentimental attachment to their own "home" realm.

St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee is a leading research and treatment center for life-threatening children's diseases. Families of patients never pay for treatments not covered by insurance, and uninsured families are not asked to pay. They rely heavily on charitable contributions for their operating costs.

Mists of Pandaria Story Leaked

While we have no way to confirm this is real or fake, a user named MacFachadima posted details on the thread of another website regarding the Mists of Pandaria story leak. While we have to wait a week until we see if this Mists of Pandaria story leak is real or fake, it is at the very least an interesting peek into the possible storyline of the expansion, and since fans are waiting with bated breath for the official Mists of Pandaria story leak, we'll post up a copy of the original post here just in case the original is taken down for any reason legal or otherwise.

Mists of Pandaria Storyline and Lore Information
Levels 85-90
Expansion gives players access to the wartorn island of Pandaria, Kul Tiras, Tel'abim, and Suramar.
Two distinct Pandaren races are released with the game.
The Alliance befriends the Pandaren of the Shadow Shao'din, a proud clan of warriors with a heritage of bloodshed.
The Horde gains the support of the Fire Shao'din, which is a clan of Pandaren monks, scholars, and poets.
Civil war split the island of Pandaria literally. The two warring Pandaren clans used their magic to split the island down the middle.
Shodo-pan Zin Ji is the stand-in villain for the expansion, but N'Zoth and Azshara play a role, as well.
Shodo-pan Zin Ji is the former leader of the Shadow Shao'din, and initially receives support from the Alliance.
The Shadow Shao'din started the war by invading Fire Shao'din farms to steal food and supplies.
The Shadow Shao'din is too powerful for the Fire Shao'din to handle alone. The Fire Shao'din sends messengers in a rowboat to a nearby Horde warship to plead for support.
The "Mists" of Pandaria are actually a concealing sort of magic that hid the island from the eyes of sailors for millennia.
The Fire Shao'din Pandaren are markedly friendlier-looking compared to the Shadow Shao'din Pandaren. The two races are very distinct from each other. The Fire Shao'din Pandaren have a choice of sagely beards and wise facial features, while the Shadow Shao'din Pandaren are slightly taller and appear more vicious.
Blizzard wanted to give the Alliance another "unethical" or "shadowy" race to balance the storyline out.
The expansion focuses greatly on the conflict between the Alliance and Horde by proxy of their new Pandaren allies.
Deathwing's Shattering is what initially caused famine and disease to consume the island of Pandaria. The Shadow Shao'din took a very direct approach to handling the problem, and this meant wiping out the sickly members of the population in large numbers. The Alliance does not initially understand the brutality of the Shadow Shao'din.I'm still a bit sore about Blizzard not releasing more Outland content, as I would like to see more of that myself. Still, this Mists of Pandaria story leak is intriguing. If this really was the story for the next expansion, I have no complaints.

It would certainly explain why both the Horde and Alliance would get Pandaren as their new playable race. Not to mention that extending the war between the Alliance and Horde would make for an excellent plot. We'll just have to wait until the 21st to see if this Mists of Pandaria story leak really pans out or not.
