Battle.net World Championship to Include World of Warcraft




Blizzard Entertainment has just announced that the Battle.net World Championship will include not only Starcraft II, but World of Warcraft as well. The championship will be taking place Saturday, November 17th and Sunday, November 18th in Shanghai, China.

Aside from the Starcraft II championships, the World of Warcraft championships will feature many new events. The main events are going to be between some of the top players and guilds in the world. The events are as follows:

Dungeon Challenge Event

The two guilds Stars and Supreme Quicksand will be competing in three Dungeon Challenge Modes. The three instances that they will be battling though to get the best time. Those instances featured are Shado-Pan Monastery, Scarlet Halls, and Stormstout Brewery. Both guilds must choose their best composition of players to complete these tasks in a efficient manner.

Live Raid With Stars

If you know anything about the Chinese guild called Stars, you will already know that they hold the records for the fastest runs on heroic difficulty for raids. The guild Supreme Quicksand has also shown their abilities while clearing the fastest Heroic Dragon Soul run. Both of these guilds will compete against each other for the fastest Heroic Mogu'shan Vaults run.

World Championship World of Warcraft Arena Global Finals

The top ten area teams in the world will be competing for the hefty sum of money that is the reward for the winning team. It will be done in a round robin type style, and the top 4 teams will get to compete against each other for the top team. Winning teams get the Global Champion title as well as the top prize of $105,000.
