Activision Blizzard Q2 Updates

An official routine press conference has been called a few days ago by Activision Blizzard to expose their quarterly earnings, changes to upcoming projects and other important statistical information. Let's do a brief sum up;
  • Number of World of Warcraft active subscribers has been in a decline for a very long time now, its current status is 7.7 million active subscribers.
  • Diablo III has sold a bit over 12 million copies since its official release last year in March. It now has around a million daily active players, and 3 millions of unique players every month.
  • The release date for Diablo III for consoles is September 3, 2013.
  • The upcoming MMO project code-named Titan will not be a subscription based game like World of Warcraft currently is. This subscription model is getting fairly old and Blizzard is experimenting with new models. It will most likely be a "Buy and play" game supported with all sorts of in-game micro transactions, such as skins, models, items, mounts and pets.
  • Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, the sequel to the Starcraft franchise, has become Blizzards 16th fastest selling game of all times.
  • Blizzard All-Stars, a game that was supposed to be Blizzards official DotA 2, is in a wider range of internal testing, and will be discussed on this year's BlizzCon.
  • Hearthstone, Blizzards newest and the most unexpected game is planned to be release somewhere near the end of the year.
We're waiting nervously for more information about Blizzard's three upcoming games, Hearthstone, Blizzard All-Stars and Titan. If none are released, this year's BlizzCon should tell us more about those games and the upcoming, long awaited Warcraft Movie.

Stay tuned for more news and share your thoughts and speculations in the comments below!
