World of Warcraft Player Reaches Level 90 Without Leaving Starting Zone

World of Warcraft starting zones are lovely, don’t you think? The balance of homeliness and danger lends the perfect setting for your daring adventure’s prologue. But have you ever loved your starting zone so much, you couldn’t bare to spend only 10 measly levels in there? Maybe you don’t have to leave. Maybe you could stay forever… just like Doubleagent.

Doubleagent is a level 90 Pandaren Shaman who calls The Wandering Isles his one and only home. After completing every quest in the neutral starting zone, he decided to embrace neutrality and avoid siding with either Horde or Alliance. To do this, he remained in the Isles for his entire 90 level adventure. Once questing and mobs gave no more experience, Doubleagent picked herbs and mined until he heard that final “ding.”

“I stayed on the isle and refused to betray the ‘Neutral’ by choosing a side. I probably would have given up on it a while back had my friend not suggested that I would never be able to do it,” writes Doubleagent in a Battle.net FAQ. “But now I will be able to say I have a 90, max level, of every faction.”

I enjoy a good Earthroot picking myself, but Doubleagent’s grind boggles even the most hardcore WoW minds. Surprisingly, he doesn’t seem to mind his over 173.5 days of playtime.

“At times I can find it relaxing, a change from the normal,” he writes. “Plus it’s pretty easy to do when I have TV shows or movies that I need to catch up on, more so than trying to do that during a battleground or raid.”
