Things you might not have known: The Curse of Lord Valthalak

Every Alliance player knows this Npc. She provided you until the cataclysm with the Quest to upgrade your Dungeon Set 1 The Horde equivalent is Mokvar, but sadly he turned his back from peaceful businesses and now terrorises the Goblin Bankers in Orgrimmar.

She still wants an audience with the Council, before the Cataclysm with the King. This girl has patience. Mokvar said something similar, but sadly I could find it nowhere.

For people not familiar with the Dungeon Set 1 and 2, these are the sets I am talking about. The armor on the top is the Dungeon Set 1, on the bottom the Dungeon Set 2. (Sometimes named Tier 0 and 0.5) The armor pieces dropped in various Dungeons: Scholomance, Stratholme, Upper Blackrock Spire and Lower Blackrock Spire. The Questline to Upgrade the Armor was very long, expensive and difficult, but it was a truly epic experience. In order to get the D2 you had to collect the D1 first, then speak with Deliana or Mokvar and start your Adventure from there.

This is one of the two items you earned in the long questline. And you needed them to progress through it, with the Brazier of Invocation you could summon 5 Bosses in Diremaul East, Startholme, Scholomance, Lower Blackrock Spire and Upper Blackrock Spire. There is a little bit of lore behind this very interesting item, explained in the next two screenshots.

You get this book when you have finished the questline.

One of the most interesting items you get early in the questline is the Extra-Dimensional Ghost Revealer. In Mists of Pandaria this item got a lot more functions, but I will cover that up in another episode of "Things you might not have known"

Let's start our journey in the Blackrock. Remember the little balcony in front of Blackrock Spire? Nothing there, mh?

Oh boy, you just realised that you passed a hidden npc for years of going Blackrock Spire or Blackwing Lair. This little Gnome is one of the victims of Lord Valthalak. Very friendly fellow
