Was Warlords of Draenor Just a Filler? - Ending Cinematic Leaked

All things - good or bad - have to come to an end and it looks like World of Warcraft's popular expansion, Warlords of Draenor, responsible for bringing hundreds of thousands of players back to the game, has reached the end of the line with patch 6.2. It is now clear that the said patch is about the final assault in Hellfire Citadel, but what's not quite as well-known is the fact that the final boss of this raid will be none other than Archimonde, who will obviously have to be defeated. The ending cinematic has apparently been leaked, it can be viewed on YouTube and it is indeed about Archimonde's defeat.

While from a technical perspective, the sequence is indeed quite flawless, fans have expressed displeasure with the turn it will have added to the story. This way, the entire Warlords of Draenor expansion may be reduced to little more than a side-note, a filler of sorts, meant to steer the story towards the bringing back of Grom and Gul'Dan.
With all the gloom and doom, it is still worthy to note than Blizzard haven't actually reacted in any way to the leaked cinematic yet. Patch 6.2 comes with new boss raids, new challenges and a flying mount, in addition to the apparently disappointing final stroke.

The good news for fans of the game is though that WoW is far from wrapping up: there's actually a new expansion in the works, and although there's currently little known about it, it seems like it will be centered on Azshara, the elven queen responsible for the summoning of the Burning Legion and Sargeras to Azeroth. Blizzard have apparently made moves to trademark the title "Eye of Azshara" so that's quite telling.
