WoW-themed Wedding

People can say taht this is cringe or lame, and usually i'll agree but not in this case this one is actually done right.

They aren't in shitty cosplay and they look like they put effort in looking good for the event.

It's not tacky at all, it's got high quality decorations that compliment the wedding rather than just being thrown in for no reason.

I think attending a themed wedding done right like this would be fun to be a part of.

During TBC, I gave a gold beggar three tasks. He did them.

I love how the beggar goes from "are you serious though" to "tell thee thy next task" LOL he got totally into it. I still don't know what "for thoust hinderest must go" means, so I stand behind my "sure". I think it's "for your hindrance must go" i.e. the beggar is hindering you, and he has to go so he asks how long you'll be on for.

Free up desired name

Just to point out; this requires patience and sometimes weeks even months of beeing "boring bug".

Let me elaborate how I freed up name Nox on most high populated realms like Sylvanas, Ravencrest etc.

Ok, first we go and do some research;
I'll go with example of name NOX, and how I freed it up on some high pop realms.

(tooked me couple months):

- Armory search showed name Nox was taken by inactive lvl 56 DK.

- Put in first ticket with similar text to this;

Hello,
I'm interested in obtaining my name Nox for my little shaddow goddess (this is not needed but a bit of cheezzines is bonus), I researched a bit and that name is taken by inactive lvl 56 DK. Please can you assist with it, since I really want to get my original name, and I'm familiar with it that you can free up names from inactive accounts if necessary (yes they can, I got this name from TBC priest on high pop realm that was inactive for 3 years), so please if its possible can you help me to be complete once again.

Sincerelly, **** aka Nox

*take in mind that this will be more succesfull if you have similar name and you just want to change it to "normall" one; like Imperatoor > Imperator. So in a time you will probably get negative generic response. Put in another ticket, be polite and add in ticket that you are long time customer (for ages now) and that you really want to get that name. (I even managed to get name changed by gm ingame for free and I used my old name on my hunter now).

You need to come to point where GM will talk to you directly. This is most important part. You need to have some social and writting skills to make sure you do the job correctly. Be kind, don't fool around, be direct about how are you waiting for years to get name from some inactive character. You need to get at this point info where GM will confirm that they can free up name, and he will probably say to you that account isn't inactive long enough to free it just now.

If you are good enough in beeing cheezzy about how you cry alot since you can't be complete with yours long lost name, ask in lines (don't be so direct) in how long time you should enquiry again about name. Don't ask for direct date, just ask about roughly when can it be possible.

After this it's waiting time, in a month/week, depends of previous steps you put in another ticket where you explain how you did talked before with GM and repeat all stuff from previous steps and ask once again can they finally free up your name.

If account is really inactive you will get your name soon enough. And if you were nice enough. Don't bail if you get some hard GM, repeat process.

For example I got name **** on Sylvanas by putting in ticket something like this;

Hello,

I'm interested in obtaining my name **** on this realm, since I'm transferring my priest here I really want to have my original name. My research showed that my name is taken by lvl 70 inactive account, can you assist with this. I'm long time customer and I'm playing this game for a long time, and if I can't get my name I really won't transfer and race change, since I'm used to my name and I couldn't handle beeing under another tag. So if its possible and you can be kind enough to do me this favour I would be soo happy.

**** aka ****

* You are playing on card of beeing customer that wants to spend $ and Blizz loves $. Its your ultimate card.

* And most important, this is mostly possible when name is on inactive account. Altho I once freed up name that was taken by active account, but thats story for another post.

I used dummy name at start of post, and **** are putted instead real names. Hope this post will add something to community, and i hope its not against rules to post guides that include GM since everything is legal that i've done. Nothing against ToS or any law.

So, I was in Dire Maul a few days ago... and for some reason I couldn't help but make this...

Before I read the actual name for Dire Maul I thought it's name was actually Dire Mall and it was a run down market place or some sort of seedy dark black market area. That would be a fun instance. A bustling black market for bad guys and the party bursts in Jesus style and flips all the tables and fucks shit up. I didn't think it was weird. Seemed like a workable concept. Deep in the forests of Feralas, theres a huge black market known as the Dire Mall run by Ogres, Goblins, and Pirates who enter Feralas through the western coast, and after the cataclysm, easily through Thousand Needles.

You could even say defending against trafficking was a reason for having Feathermoon on that island, as a watch along the coast.

Easy [Zarhym Altogether] achievement as a warlock and a monk!

The Zarhym Altogeather achievement is located in the Cavern of Lost Spirits on Timeless Isle.
To get the achievement you need to locate Zarhym inside the Cavern of lost spirit.
Make sure to get to the end of the spiral cave at the very top and place your Demonic Circle before you enter the spirit world. The same applies to monks by using Transcendence.

Talk to him and enter the spirit world, here comes the tricky but easy part.
Avoid all contact with the circles thats spawning around inside the cave, onces you have stepped in one of those, you get ported out to the normal world. Get yourself to this location thats not very far from the starting zone of the event. Pretty much just straight in to the cave and make a left @ the first downhill. Ones you are on the rocks simply use your portal and you got your achievement!

Guide for Netherweave cloth and tons of greens

This will require pure RNG luck and a hunter or a class that can reset combat every 30 seconds.

You need to be in Heroic Blood Furnace right in Broggok room and you will see 14 Fel orc Fel Orc Neophyte's on the sides. Press the lever and kill the 1st 2nd 3rd packs and kill 3 of the 4 orcs on the last pack then Feign Death and all the orcs should reset.

Loot them all and you will be sometimes getting at least 1 to 3 OR no greens, you will be getting 1 to 9 Cloth OR nothing per 30 secs.

The 4th pack don't drop anything since your reseting the groups. And you have to wait5 seconds for the lever to be clickable agian.

You will be getting 243 to 245 thrallmar or the alliance rep per 30 secs with the banner, and if you lucky you can get epics and blues to selling the AH

In 30 minutes of farming i netted 54 greens, 287 cloth, 3 epics, 78 greys and 2 blues. The greens i DE'd while i was leveling alts chanting and tailoring.

NEVER EVER USE A PET

If you kill the last orc by accident you can go back out and reset since you didn't kill a boss yet.

Flying Boomkin bug

  1. Equip Burgy Blackheart's Handsome Hat
  2. Go into Druid Flight Form
  3. Go from a non crossrealm zone into a crossrealm zone and make the phase change so you can see that it is being changed.
  4. The second you see the phase change dismount and you will appear in the air and it will look like you're swimming and it has about the same speed as when you are actually swimming in water.
You can actually switch to any form while you are floating in the air but imo Balance is best since you can range from the air so it's pretty fun. I am quite new to this site so i am sorry if this is a repost or if its a common bug by now.

If not, if you have any questions feel free to ask

Burgy Blackheart's Handsome Hat - Item - World of Warcraft

Also if you want to do this in a place like Shrine for example you could simply get someone to invite you the group and do the exact same steps and just leave/join group and same thing will work.

Fresh 90/Boosted 90 PvE tips.

Since everyone's going to be playing their fresh, boosted up 90's and want to have fun, I just figured I'd link some reference guides for PvE, so you can get right into the action you want to involve yourself in! This is also a chance for players who may've thought about doing regular raiding to follow up on these references of information and looking for a raiding guild.

Bear in mind, these guides will generally cover merely the necessary knowledge of the spec or class you're interested in - the best way to learn after reading these is practice.

I really wanted to recommend these guides to people, to try and get people playing something they've been interested in to higher performance, and to make the game a bit more accessible and easier for everyone to just get done what they want to get done. ^^

Class/Spec Information

Class Guides (WoW MoP 5.4) - Icy Veins

Every spec covered in fine levels of detail! Simple to read, streamlined information regarding every spec in the game. Phenomenal start to getting skilled with your fresh 90!

Ask Mr. Robot - World of Warcraft

Good site for optimizing your gear to its fullest, and squeezing out every drop of damage, healing, and survivability your gear can give to you. Takes a little bit of adjusting to show the information you need, but it's very worth the minor adjusting required.

Priest

HowToPriest.com ? Index page

Terrific site related to Priest information and gameplay, would read it if you want to play your Priest to the fullest!

Rogue

ShadowCraft - Rogue DPS Spreadsheet

This is a Rogue DPS spreadsheet tool. Very useful for more advanced optimization of your Rogue's damage output.

Shaman

Restoration: Resto Shaman Pocketguide- MoP version 5.0+ - Forums - World of Warcraft

Written by Jujubiju, this is a great guide for Resto Shaman gameplay, and has links to more extensive information for you to look into.

Class and Role Forums

Both of these selections are also great sources of information, both basic and detailed, though some of the class forum's guides are a tad out of date.

Gearing on the Timeless Isle

Moss-Covered Chest - Object - World of Warcraft

This is a map of the Timeless Isle, showing designated, guaranteed spawn points of every Moss-Covered Chest on the isle, all of which will have some sort of Timeless Isle gear tokens inside them. Fantastic and easy way to grab some 496 gear, and with enough luck, a few 535 pieces! Just have to hope you get the right random enchants, though.

Blazing Chest - Object - World of Warcraft

A map marking the location of the Blazing Chest, a one-time lootable item per character that contains two Timeless Isle gear tokens and a guaranteed Burden of Eternity. I'd recommend running all the LFR's you can before you decide what item you want to pop that burden on!

Crafted Gear

Cloth (Tailoring): Items - World of Warcraft

Leather/Mail (Leatherworking): Items - World of Warcraft

Plate/Weapons (Blacksmithing): Items - World of Warcraft

All of the patterns, required materials, and stats of level 90 crafted gear that you'd consider an upgrade to your 483 starter gear. If you've got the gold or resources, this is a fantastic way to make up for RNG's neglective nature!

Gearing Through Raids

The first and most important thing to do before setting foot in any raiding environment is to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of boss fights. Sites such as Wowhead, Youtube (I'd recommend searching for Fat Boss strategies!), and even just asking right here, can help a lot with learning your role in specific raids. It's also a GREAT idea to read the Dungeon Journal to get a basic idea of fights as well!

Everyone knows how to find their way into a Looking for Raid group, but many players feel as though that's the farthest they can achieve with their character, or feel they don't have the time to get anything more done. I'm here to shed some light on that!

The first step after you've obtained enough Timeless gear, LFR gear, and maybe a few crafted items, is to look into Flexible Siege of Orgrimmar and Normal Throne of Thunder runs. Many people have a hard time finding a group, simply because they don't know how to find one. Some don't think they're good enough to get into these runs, and others simply don't want to bother with them at all. To those with a bit of worry, or having issues even finding groups, any raider, heroic or regular, has been right where you are now! There's always a point in gameplay where you may want to advance to the next stage of something, but you either don't have the resources, time, knowledge, or confidence to move in and give it a shot (Or you have before, and it's gone poorly).

Don't give up, take some time and take these tips so you'll have a broader experience and choice of play that might be just what you're after!

Other Raids: There's a tab that not many people know about in-game now, labeled "Other Raids". Simply by going to your Raids tab, then looking at the upper right hand corner of that window. From there, you can take a peek at all of the options available to you! Just remember to take a peek at anything you're not sure of in the Dungeon Journal before finding a group. :P

OQueue: https://solidice.com/addons/wow/oQueue

Fantastic add-on that's sure to help you with finding groups for just about anything. Thousands and thousands of players use this one daily, and the pool of players is massive - you can find groups reliably for just about anything you're after at any time of the day, or you can seize the initiative and form your own group! It does require constant updating, though, so be sure you watch that you keep it up to date about once a week.

Your Friends and Guild: Yes, that's right, the people you (hopefully) interact with often may also be interested in doing these raids with you! It's also a good way to keep a crowd of players you enjoy playing with around you, no matter what kind of play you find yourself in.

Finding a Raid Group Suited for You!

Now that you've taken some time and read through all of this, you might be thinking "You know what? I like what you're putting down, maybe I can try regular some day!" (I really hope that's what some of you may be thinking, at least, game needs more regular/heroic raiders :c). If you decided at some point into this read that it just doesn't interest you;

That's perfectly fine. Everybody draws a line somewhere, just play the game to the fullest of your extent and enjoy what there is to offer! Get out there and make the community a better place.

To those that do still have interest in all of this, getting into these groups can feel daunting. Trust me, when I get into a raid group, I make sure I do my best to hold onto my spot - finding a new one can take loads of time, depending on all sorts of things, like your gear, experience, and availability. However, I will also say it's probably the single most rewarding experience you can find in the game, in my opinion. Everyone's different, so while the experience may not appeal to others, I can personally say from the time I began raiding in Tier 7 with my first raiding guild, up until now, with different guilds and people often, these things have always held true:

You WILL meet great friends. Raiding in an organized environment requires a high morale environment, and that kind of naturally happens, so long as everyone's social enough with each other and working as a team. A good example of this is my Cataclysm raid guild; after a few raids they took me along for as a pug member, I was invited to the guild to permanently fill their missing spot. I only knew two of the members as my friends at the time (Both of whom referred me to the guild master as a potential recruit), but after a few weeks, I met the people who I can safely say are my best friends in this game, through that guild. Even though some of us don't raid together anymore, we still talk and keep in touch often.

Raiding does NOT have to be a negative experience. If you run into a group as a pug, and the group's just being rude and convictive with mistakes (Perhaps even your own), then get out of that environment, and find yourself a real group. This game's about fun - that's what games are supposed to be. It's fine and expected to be called out for a mistake a few times, and yeah, sometimes people will be a bit assertive after a few times seeing the same issue, frustration's just part of who people are, and that will happen - but if you wipe once to something like missing a land mine on Iron Juggernaut and the raid leader jumps down your throat as though you insulted their mother, then it's best to move on for greener pastures.

Finally, it ALWAYS takes time and dedication. People in an organized raid group expect you to be online on time, and usually with flasks and food buffs ready to go, reforged, gemmed, and enchanted optimally (And yeah, these are huge impacts on your performance in a raid). Some groups may be more lineal towards you missing a few gems or an enchant here and there, but you should do your best to always come prepared and show your group how much you care about getting content done with them!

Now that I've shared some of the crucial things to keep in mine, here's some resources to finding raiding guilds.

Your Realm Forum!

Potentially the most efficient, surefire way to find an easy-access group, your realm's forums should have posts from guilds that are seeking filled spots in their rosters If they're looking for someone of your specialization, but you get told you can't raid with them due to gear, that's fine! Most guilds these days may still take you in and you'll have a bit of time to work on that, then come back to them and seeing if it's still possible. And if not, hey, you can still make some friends, and their friends might need spots filled on a reg run or two at some point - great way to get yourself out there!

The Guild Recruitment Forum (Guild Recruitment - Forums - World of Warcraft)

Perhaps the most obvious resource, guilds across the globe look for players on these forums to fill specified places in their rosters. While heroic raiding guilds may be asking for a bit more gear than you have available (Or even access to, at this point), there's still plenty of regular raiding guilds that will be looking for someone with something you can provide! However, just checking every other resource you've got so far should be fine enough for finding a group on your own realm.

Thanks for reading everyone, and good luck in whatever you do with your 90's!

You don't have to be a boosted 90 to be an idiot about your class!

Reminds me of a IRL friend of mine who, back in Wrath, thought he needed to stack Int gear on his Ret Paladin because it would increase the damage done by his Consecration.
He also gemmed spirit.

I have also been in a group pre-panda, with a paladin that queued as dps, was specced holy and was spamming holy shock.

He legitimately thought holy spec was his dps/caster spec.

Found this bad boy in my closet. Back when CC was important...

I remember my first raid as a warlock in Gruul's lair. I was so nervous and it was my job to charm the add. I never used my succubus until that point, so I was like "holy shit, I hope this works."

Raiding in BC was some of the most fun I've ever had in a video game.

Farming shadoweave, however, was not.

Get into low level dungeon (maybe bg) as a level 90

Just accidently stumbled upon this bug as i was boosting my level 60 monk to 90.

If you are queued for a low level dungeon, log out and boost the character and log back in, you are still in the low level queue and can enter it as a 90 when it pops.
You might be able to do this with a battleground, i don't see why not.

Hope you guys have fun with this too!

[Exploration] New way out of the Gate of the Setting Sun

After meeting two other people from Trokair's spectacular new thread where people can get btags for collaboration, and introducing them to a friend and I--The four of us decided to head out to multiple dungeons, and scour them over the course of hours in order to try and find a way to escape their boundaries. While in the Gate of the Setting Sun, we found a new way to escape.

Note, Blizzard installed a kill wall around the entire outside of this dungeon, which was discovered to be relatively unavoidable in the time we were present. But there is a gap in the Southern portion which lets you get into the Dread Wastes.

As well, please give credit to both CrowleyAshens and Phocito as much as you do to me, seeing as they both have accounts here and helped with the exploration through teamwork. GJ to everyone who helped.

The following imgur album shows how to use a sandbox tiger to escape the boundaries. Note the dead body in the last picture, on the ground, helping demonstrate the improved killwall Blizzard installed.

Setting Sun Exploration 1:

If you hug the wall after jumping down on the southern side of things, you might find a way through a wall that lets you get to this area, where you may continue exploration safe out of the way of the killzone.

They respawn quick enough around the place to not loose the buff.
