Ennemy RoF Become friendly RoF By MCing the mage

I have not found any post about this so :
I was in a bg and a ennemy mage set a Ring of frost. I've MindControled the mage and his pet get RoFed
??? Mindcontrole a mage affect his Ring of frost ???

i found a post on battle.net with similar mechanic : Ring of Frost vs Mind Control - Forums - World of Warcraft

Note : The RoF Color doesn't change when mindcontroled
