If you needed another reason to run Magisters’ Terrace and Windrunner Spire this week, here it is: two new Hawkstrider mounts have been added as dungeon drops in World of Warcraft: Midnight.

According to Wowhead coverage and early player reports, the mounts are tied to Mythic-level dungeon runs, giving mount collectors a fresh reason to farm these instances before Season 1 begins on March 17.

The two Hawkstrider mounts players are chasing

Midnight introduces new high-detail Hawkstrider models, and two of them are currently obtainable through dungeon drops:

🔥 Lucent Hawkstrider

  • Drops from: Magisters’ Terrace

  • Difficulty: Mythic dungeon difficulty

⚡ Radiant Hawkstrider

  • Drops from: Windrunner Spire

  • Difficulty: Mythic dungeon difficulty

Both mounts use the updated Hawkstrider model Blizzard introduced for Midnight, with glowing armor and visual effects that make them stand out from older Burning Crusade variants.

Why these mounts matter right now

There are two reasons these mounts are trending:

1) Season 1 is about to start

Season 1 launches March 17, bringing Mythic+ progression, raids, and a full seasonal gear reset. Many players are farming Mythic dungeons right now to prepare—and mount drops add another incentive.

2) Hawkstriders are iconic to the expansion

Because Midnight heavily features Silvermoon and Blood Elf lore, Hawkstriders have become one of the visual “symbols” of the expansion.

So new Hawkstrider mounts were always going to get attention.

Mount collectors: this is your pre-Season grind

If you’re chasing mounts before Season 1 begins, these dungeons are currently some of the most popular runs in the game.

Expect:

  • heavy farming groups

  • mount hunting parties

  • and plenty of Mythic dungeon spam over the next week.
