World of Warcraft collectors, it is time to perform the sacred weekly ritual again: gather your alts, fly to Vol’dun, kill one very large dinosaur, receive disappointment, repeat until morale improves.

Dunegorger Kraulok is back as the active Battle for Azeroth world boss, which means players have another limited-time chance to farm Mollie, the adorable alpaca mount that drops from him.

Or more accurately, that might drop from him.

Because this is mount farming, and hope is mostly just a debuff with better branding.

Dunegorger Kraulok Is Up in Vol’dun

According to Icy Veins’ reminder, Dunegorger Kraulok is currently up in Vol’dun and will remain available until the next weekly reset.

The boss is located in The Bone Pit in Vol’dun, around coordinates 44.6, 56.2. If you have Battle for Azeroth world quests unlocked, you can simply look for the epic world quest marker in the zone. If not, you can still head to the location manually and join the usual crowd of players silently hoping this is finally their week.

Kraulok has been around since Battle for Azeroth, but the real prize is Mollie, learned from the item Slightly Damp Pile of Fur. Warcraft Mounts lists Mollie as a drop from Dunegorger Kraulok in Vol’dun, introduced in Patch 8.3.

That means this is old content, yes.

But old content with a cute alpaca attached is still legally allowed to ruin your schedule.

Why Collectors Still Care

Mollie is not new. It is not tied to Midnight. It is not a power reward, a seasonal chase, or a fancy new housing decoration with eleven tooltips and suspicious rune energy.

It is simply a mount collectors still want.

And that is enough.

WoW mount farming has always had a strange power over players. A boss can be years old, the expansion can be long finished, the gear can be vendor trash, and yet the moment a mount is involved, suddenly half the playerbase becomes extremely busy on twelve characters.

Mollie has that exact energy.

It is cute. It is rare enough to matter. It only appears when Kraulok is up. And because Kraulok is part of the old BfA world boss rotation, you do not get to farm him every week.

That limited window is what turns a simple old boss kill into a collector alarm bell.

Bring the Alt Army

The obvious advice is simple: kill Kraulok on every eligible character you can tolerate moving to Vol’dun.

That last part is important.

Modern WoW has made alt life smoother in many ways, but old expansion travel can still feel like being asked to solve a portal room escape puzzle while your mount collection judges you. Horde players usually have the easier route through the Zuldazar portal from Orgrimmar, then flying into Vol’dun. Alliance players may need to use BfA travel routes, War Campaign unlocks, or alternative paths depending on what that character has completed.

If an alt has never touched Battle for Azeroth, expect a little inconvenience.

Because naturally, the cutest alpaca in the room lives behind legacy travel logistics.

The Boss Is Not the Hard Part

Dunegorger Kraulok itself is not the problem for most modern characters.

The problem is repetition.

Fly in. Tag boss. Loot boss. No mount. Log alt. Repeat. Question life choices. Repeat again.

That is the mount collector loop in its purest form. It is not glamorous. It is not complex. It is not exactly heroic fantasy. But it is deeply familiar to anyone who has ever spent years politely bullying old bosses for a drop they refuse to hand over.

And when the mount finally drops?

Suddenly all of that nonsense becomes “worth it.”

That is how the game gets us.

Old Rewards Still Keep WoW Alive

This is also a good reminder that WoW’s old world still matters.

Not every useful piece of content has to be current-season progression. Not every reason to log in has to be Mythic+, raid tuning, crests, power systems, or weekly checklists. Sometimes the reason is much simpler:

A dinosaur is up.

It might drop an alpaca.

Go.

That kind of collector loop is one of WoW’s quiet strengths. Old zones stay relevant because mounts, pets, toys, appearances, achievements, and weird little rewards keep pulling players back into places they otherwise would have abandoned years ago.

Vol’dun may not be the center of Azeroth’s story right now, but this week it is absolutely the center of someone’s mount-farming spreadsheet.

Do It Before Reset

If Mollie is still missing from your collection, this is the week to try again.

Dunegorger Kraulok will only remain active until the next weekly reset, and once he rotates out, collectors will have to wait for him to come back around.

So grab your alts, head to Vol’dun, find The Bone Pit, and prepare yourself emotionally.

Maybe Mollie drops.

Maybe she does not.

Either way, the mount collector’s oath remains unchanged:

One more kill.
