World of Warcraft players are very good at ignoring Timewalking until Blizzard puts something shiny enough behind it.

Patch 12.0.7 appears to understand this perfectly.

When Turbulent Timeways returns on June 30, the weekly Timewalking quest will offer an upgraded reward: a Heroic Cache of Quel’Thalas Treasures with item level 259–276 gear.

That is not just nostalgia bait.

That is Blizzard politely placing useful loot in front of players and saying, “Please run the old dungeons again.”

Turbulent Timeways Runs From June 30 to August 11

Blizzard’s official Turbulent Timeways announcement confirms that the event runs from June 30 to August 11.

Each week sends players through a different Timewalking expansion, with this round beginning and ending with Dragonflight Timewalking.

That is a smart move. Dragonflight dungeons are still recent enough to feel familiar, but old enough to be weird when scaled, compressed, and thrown back into the Timewalking machine.

Also, let’s be honest: Ruby Life Pools is about to start arguments again.

The Weekly Cache Is the Real Hook

The improved weekly reward is what makes this more interesting than a simple “Timewalking is back” post.

For the duration of Turbulent Timeways, the Timewalking weekly quest offers a Heroic Cache of Quel’Thalas Treasures with rewards in the 259–276 item level range.

That gives players a reason to care even if they are not chasing every mount, badge item, or nostalgic dungeon tour.

Gear matters. A better weekly cache makes the event feel like something worth putting on the calendar instead of something you remember exists on the final Tuesday while eating regret for breakfast.

Dragonflight Timewalking Gets the Spotlight

The event’s Dragonflight weeks include six dungeons: Algeth’ar Academy, Halls of Infusion, Neltharus, Ruby Life Pools, The Azure Vaults, and Brackenhide Hollow.

That lineup is going to be funny.

Some players will enjoy revisiting them. Some will remember mechanics they had successfully buried. Some will enter Ruby Life Pools with the haunted stare of someone who has seen too much fire on the floor.

Still, adding Dragonflight to the Timewalking rotation helps the event feel fresher than another lap through the same old nostalgia hallway.

Xydan Is Waiting in Valdrakken

Players can also visit Xydan, the new Dragonflight Timewalking vendor located in the Bronze Enclave in Valdrakken.

That means the event is not only about the weekly cache. There will also be vendor rewards, badge spending, and the usual collector math where someone says “I only need one thing” and then discovers they need eleven.

Timewalking is never just Timewalking.

It is a dungeon queue wearing a reward shop as a hat.

This Is Good Alt Fuel

The upgraded cache also makes Turbulent Timeways more attractive for alts.

Patch 12.0.7 already has plenty of alt-friendly hooks, including quest XP improvements, outdoor reward buffs, Timewalking activity, and catch-up paths scattered across the update.

A stronger weekly Timewalking cache fits nicely into that pattern.

If you have a character sitting awkwardly between “playable” and “why are their boots from three patches ago,” this event may be worth watching.

No, it will not instantly turn every alt into a raid-ready monster.

But it is another weekly nudge in the right direction, and WoW gearing is built out of nudges, chores, luck, and occasional shouting.

Do Not Sleep on the Weekly Quest

The biggest mistake with Turbulent Timeways is treating it like background noise.

Yes, the event runs for weeks. Yes, Timewalking is familiar. Yes, you have probably run some of these dungeons enough times to recognize the trash pulls by smell.

But the improved weekly cache changes the math.

If you care about gearing, alts, collectibles, badges, or simply squeezing value out of the patch calendar, the weekly quest is worth doing.

This is not the flashiest part of Patch 12.0.7.

It is not Sporefall. It is not Zul’jan’s July 7 story chapter. It is not a new Myth crest path or a guaranteed mount.

But it is practical, repeatable, and rewarding enough to matter.

Which is exactly how Timewalking gets you.

One weekly cache at a time.
