Every enemy in World of Warcraft’s Season 2 Mythic+ test just became slightly harder to kill.

After reviewing data from the latest Curse of Ula’tek PTR dungeon testing, Blizzard has increased creature health in Mythic+ by 4%.

Four percent does not sound dramatic.

It is not a 30% boss buff, a complete dungeon redesign or another affix designed to turn the floor into an active crime scene.

But when that increase applies across an entire Mythic+ dungeon, it affects almost everything: pull duration, cooldown timing, boss phases, healer mana and the amount of time left on the clock.

Every Pull Now Takes Slightly Longer

The most obvious result of a universal health increase is that enemies survive longer.

A single trash mob gaining 4% health will barely be noticeable.

A dungeon containing dozens of enemies, several minibosses and multiple full boss encounters is a different matter.

Every pull demands slightly more damage. Every boss requires additional uptime. Every dangerous enemy has more time to cast abilities that the group needs to interrupt, avoid or survive.

The change will not simply add exactly 4% to every dungeon timer.

Players move between pulls, complete mechanics and lose different amounts of time depending on their route and execution.

However, groups that were already finishing close to the timer will feel the increase far more than groups comfortably clearing with several minutes remaining.

A key completed with eight seconds left does not have much room for Blizzard’s new health subscription.

Blizzard Says PTR Groups Were Killing Things Too Quickly

Blizzard’s explanation is brief.

After reviewing PTR data, the developers increased Mythic+ creature health by 4% and said they would continue monitoring the dungeons for further tuning.

That strongly suggests testing groups were moving through the Season 2 pool faster than Blizzard intended.

PTR dungeon testing is always imperfect.

Groups contain experienced players actively searching for efficient routes, broken interactions and overtuned abilities. Character templates, unfinished gear balance and rapidly changing class tuning can also distort the results.

Still, Blizzard clearly saw enough evidence to raise the baseline across Mythic+ rather than adjusting one dungeon or enemy type.

This is not a targeted fix.

It is Blizzard turning up the health dial for the entire mode.

The Buff Changes More Than Overall Damage Requirements

Longer pulls create secondary problems.

Damage cooldowns may no longer cover the same portion of a pull. Enemies can survive long enough to use an additional dangerous ability. Tanks spend more time maintaining defensive resources, while healers handle another round of unavoidable damage.

Boss fights may also reach mechanics that strong PTR groups previously skipped.

That can expose tuning problems that were hidden when bosses died too quickly.

A mechanic occurring once may feel harmless.

The same mechanic appearing a second or third time can reveal that it was never harmless. Players were simply killing the boss before it finished explaining the problem.

The health increase could therefore improve testing by forcing groups to experience more complete versions of each encounter.

It could also make already slow bosses feel worse without solving the mechanics that made them frustrating in the first place.

High Keys Will Feel the Change Most

A flat 4% increase becomes more meaningful as Mythic+ scaling pushes enemy health higher.

At lower key levels, players may erase the difference through stronger gear and cleaner execution.

At higher levels, groups already build routes around exact cooldown windows, damage breakpoints and the number of enemy casts they expect to handle.

Giving everything more health can disrupt those calculations.

A priority target that previously died before its next cast may now require another interrupt. A boss may survive through another dangerous phase. A large pull may extend beyond the tank’s strongest defensive cooldown.

Four percent is small enough to sound harmless and large enough to ruin a carefully planned breakpoint.

That is classic Mythic+ tuning.

The Season 2 Pool Was Already Receiving Heavy Tuning

Blizzard has repeatedly adjusted the Season 2 dungeon pool throughout PTR testing.

Individual bosses, trash abilities and dungeon timers have already received changes as players test the new rotation.

The pool includes new Midnight dungeons alongside returning instances such as King’s Rest, Ruby Life Pools and Temple of Sethraliss.

Those returning dungeons are not arriving untouched.

Blizzard has reworked encounters, adjusted mechanics and rebuilt parts of the experience for the current Mythic+ environment.

We have already covered the broader Season 2 Mythic+ tuning debate, including concerns about dungeon difficulty before the season has even launched.

The new universal health increase adds another layer on top of those individual changes.

This Could Help Prevent Another Easy Opening Week

Blizzard has an obvious reason to be cautious.

If Season 2 dungeons launch too softly, organised groups can climb through key levels rapidly before hotfixes arrive.

Buffing dungeons after players have already earned rewards at easier tuning creates its own fairness problem.

A small universal increase before launch may be Blizzard’s attempt to avoid that situation.

It gives the developers a slightly safer baseline and leaves room to reduce specific enemies later if individual encounters become too punishing.

That approach is more defensible than allowing one clearly undertuned week and then increasing everything once the fastest players have already benefited.

It is also less exciting for everyone hoping Season 2 might begin without each trash pack requiring a committee meeting.

Four Percent Is Not the Real Concern

The health increase alone will not destroy Mythic+.

Players will gain stronger Season 2 gear, refine routes and discover better compositions once the dungeons reach live servers.

The real concern is how the change combines with everything else.

If dungeon timers are generous and dangerous abilities are properly tuned, 4% more health may produce healthier pacing.

If timers are already tight, trash packs contain too many mandatory stops and bosses have long immunity or roleplay phases, the extra health becomes another tax placed on top of existing problems.

Mythic+ difficulty should come from decisions, mechanics and execution.

It should not rely entirely on turning every health bar into a longer loading screen.

More Tuning Is Almost Certainly Coming

Blizzard has said it will continue monitoring the Season 2 dungeons and make additional tuning changes where necessary.

That means the 4% increase is not guaranteed to be the final word.

Specific enemies could still receive health reductions. Dungeon timers may change. Boss abilities and trash mechanics can still be adjusted before the season begins or through later hotfixes.

For now, though, the direction is clear.

PTR groups were killing Season 2 enemies faster than Blizzard wanted, so every Mythic+ health bar has become a little longer.

Just 4%.

Repeated across an entire dungeon, naturally.
