World of Warcraft players are getting another free Twitch Drop alongside Patch 12.1, and this time Blizzard has apparently decided that what Azeroth really needs is more suspicious-looking forest wizards.
The reward is the
Ensemble: Sorcerer’s Grassy Garb, a green wizard-themed transmog set that can be earned simply by watching World of Warcraft on Twitch.
No raid boss. No reputation grind. No currency with a name you’ll forget within three months.
Just four hours of Twitch.
How to Get the Sorcerer’s Grassy Garb Twitch Drop
The promotion begins on
August 11 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and runs until
September 8 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
To earn the reward, players need to watch
four hours of eligible World of Warcraft streams while the campaign is active.
You don’t need to watch the same streamer for all four hours. Progress carries across eligible WoW channels, although watching several streams simultaneously won’t make the counter move any faster.
Naturally.
Otherwise half of Azeroth would have six browser tabs open and finish the entire thing before lunch.
What Is Sorcerer’s Grassy Garb?
The ensemble is a cosmetic wizard set featuring a large pointed hat and matching cape in a decidedly leafy shade of green.
Blizzard describes the set as suitable for “mysterious magic-related needs,” which is probably as good an explanation as any for why your Death Knight may soon be wandering around dressed like someone who sells enchanted mushrooms at a Renaissance fair.
The Sorcerer sets originally appeared in multiple color variations during Midnight development, with the Grassy version now being used as the Patch 12.1 Twitch reward.
The appearance is Warband-bound once collected, so it becomes part of your transmog collection rather than being locked to the character that claims it.
Remember to Link Twitch and Battle.net
As usual, your Twitch account needs to be connected to your Battle.net account before the reward can be delivered.
Once you've completed four hours of eligible viewing, the reward must be claimed through Twitch’s Drops Inventory.
Blizzard notes that it may take up to 24 hours for the item to appear in-game after claiming it.
Players who recently changed their Battle.net password or altered their account connection should also check that Twitch is still properly linked before beginning.
Nobody wants to discover four hours later that they have watched someone farm Mythic+ entirely for the joy of it.
The Drop Arrives With Patch 12.1
The timing is deliberate.
The Twitch campaign begins on August 11, the same day
Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula’tek launches in North America.
That gives Blizzard a month-long promotion covering both the patch launch and the beginning of Midnight Season 2.
It also means there is no particular rush. Four hours spread across nearly four weeks is about as forgiving as WoW rewards get.
So if your wardrobe has been missing a large green wizard hat, Blizzard has finally heard your strangely specific complaint.
