That follows directly from the trend we saw last week, when 54.75% of completed Season 2 keys were already +10 or higher during the first Great Vault week. Seven days later, that share has climbed another 23.03 percentage points. Mythic+ participation may be cooling after the initial gearing rush, but the people still running keys are moving upward remarkably quickly.
Almost Four Out of Five Completed Keys Are Now +10 or Higher
The key-level distribution is probably the most important number in the entire Week 2 dataset. According to Raider.IO data analyzed by Nightstalker314, 77.78% of completed Mythic+ runs took place at +10 or above. +10 itself accounts for 38.41% of all completed keys, making it by far the most concentrated level in the current ecosystem.
That concentration is easy to understand. +10 is one of Season 2’s major gearing thresholds. Completing Mythic+ at that level feeds Myth-track rewards into the Great Vault and provides access to some of the season’s most valuable reward opportunities. As we explained in our Season 2 Great Vault and Nebulous Voidcore guide, +10-or-higher Mythic+ is also one of the activities capable of producing item level 318 Myth 1/6 rewards through the season’s Bonus Roll system.
Players therefore have a strong incentive to reach +10 quickly and then stay there rather than spending the entire week climbing through lower keys.
Many organized groups also deliberately avoided beginning Season 2 at the bottom of the ladder. Before the season opened, we covered how completing somebody else’s higher key before obtaining your own could prevent you from getting stuck with an unnecessary +2 Keystone. The Week 2 distribution suggests plenty of players have successfully left those introductory levels behind.
The Overall Number of Runs Fell by 25.26%
The other side of the story is volume.
Total completed Mythic+ runs fell 25.26% from Week 1. That sounds dramatic, but a substantial second-week decline is normal. Opening week produces unusually heavy farming because almost every dungeon can contain immediate upgrades, players are trying to establish their first meaningful Great Vault and many characters are still climbing through key levels they will never voluntarily visit again.
Week 2 had another competitor for player attention: Timewalking offered access to both Normal and Heroic raid caches. For characters still gearing, that provided valuable rewards without requiring another evening of negotiating with strangers over whether the tank should pull three packs simultaneously.
The regional declines were also uneven. European activity dropped around 30.10%, while the US fell 28.96%. Other regions retained more of their opening-week activity. The important point is that the activity decline has not translated into a collapse in successful high-level keys.
Overall Mythic+ Success Actually Improved
Despite fewer runs, the overall success rate increased.
Week 2 reached 88.58%, up 1.57 percentage points from the opening week’s 87.01%. Success improved at every key level above +6.
Even +10 is looking surprisingly comfortable by early-season standards. Its success rate currently sits at 91.54%, compared with 89.28% during Week 2 of Midnight Season 1.
That continues the pattern we identified when Season 2 produced the easiest first +10 Great Vault week yet. Blizzard may still have individual dungeon problems to solve, but the +10 gearing threshold itself is not functioning as a brick wall for the broader Mythic+ population.
At least not yet.
Murder Row Is Currently the Friendliest Dungeon
The dungeon-level data also shows a much clearer hierarchy developing.
Current success rates put the pool in this order:
- Murder Row — 91.45%
- King’s Rest — 90.98%
- Temple of Sethraliss — 90.20%
- Voidscar Arena — 89.29%
- Altar of Fangs — 87.91%
- Ruby Life Pools — 86.11%
- Blinding Vale — 85.40%
- Den of Nalorakk — 85.30%
Murder Row remains the easiest dungeon statistically, and it has also become one of the most attractive places to farm because its loot pool contains several desirable items. It additionally hides some unusually useful dungeon-specific tools. Our guide to Season 2’s hidden dungeon buffs covers Murder Row’s Concealed Pistol, which can make an enemy take 20% increased damage, alongside several other environmental bonuses scattered throughout the pool.
Season 2 increasingly rewards knowing more than boss mechanics. The dungeon itself occasionally hands you illegal equipment.
Altar of Fangs Has Gone From Last Place to Fifth
The most dramatic improvement belongs to Altar of Fangs.
During the first week, Altar of Fangs immediately established itself as Season 2’s problem dungeon, finishing with an 83.72% success rate and sitting at the bottom of the pool. Blizzard subsequently hit it with substantial nerfs.
Those changes appear to have worked.
Its Week 2 success rate has climbed to 87.91%, enough to move the dungeon from eighth place to fifth.
Players have also become better at exploiting its free advantages. Altar of Fangs contains a hidden interaction that gives the entire party 3% Versatility for the rest of the dungeon if somebody has sufficient Midnight Cooking or Alchemy. The buff even survives death.
Blizzard nerfed the snakes.
The players learned to cook.
Progress was inevitable.
Temple of Sethraliss Is Now Above 90%
Temple of Sethraliss is another notable climber, reaching a 90.20% success rate after recent tuning.
That does not mean the dungeon has stopped punishing groups that ignore its redesigned mechanics. The final encounter still contains the three Corrupted Lifeforce orbs we covered in our Temple of Sethraliss green-orb guide. Normally, each DPS should soak one after the Corrupted Guardian dies. Ignore them and Corruption Burst can rapidly convert a healthy party into archaeological evidence.
The important difference is that players have had another week to learn these mechanics while Blizzard has continued smoothing out the more punishing parts of the dungeon pool.
The Lowest Dungeons Are Still Above 85%
Perhaps the most surprising part of the current rankings is how compressed the bottom of the table remains.
Den of Nalorakk is currently last at 85.30%. Blinding Vale sits at 85.40%, while Ruby Life Pools is at 86.11%.
Those dungeons may still deserve additional tuning, particularly at specific key levels where individual bosses become disproportionate walls, but there is no current equivalent of an early-season dungeon collapsing into catastrophic completion rates across the board.
That helps explain why so many players have reached +10 and beyond this quickly. A dungeon pool where the “worst” option still succeeds more than 85% of the time gives players considerably more room to climb than a season containing one or two keys everyone desperately rerolls.
Season 2 Is Becoming a High-Key Season Very Quickly
None of this means Mythic+ participation is healthier simply because the percentage of high keys is larger. A 25.26% drop in weekly activity is still worth watching, and future weeks will tell us whether that was merely the normal post-launch decline or the beginning of a more persistent reduction.
But player behavior is already clear.
The people running Mythic+ are concentrating around the levels that provide meaningful endgame rewards, and they are reaching those levels faster than they did during the equivalent period of Season 1.
Week 1 had 54.75% of completed keys at +10 or higher.
Week 2 has 77.78%.
Meanwhile, overall success has improved to 88.58%, +10s are succeeding more frequently than they did in Season 1 and even Altar of Fangs has escaped the basement.
Season 2 Mythic+ has fewer people running around the lower floors.
Everyone appears to have taken the stairs.
