It is a much loved cult classic for a reason, and Brawler's Guild is basically just one big rip off of it.
there are so many "references" in the game now, especially MoP, that it is just starting to come off as lazy game design rather than coy call outs to other media. they're just blatant, in your face rip offs.
I mean, Battle Pets (pokemon) and at White Tiger temple the tiger tells you "Test your might" right before you fight a chick named Lun-chi dressed exactly like Chun-Li. ಠ_ಠ
