This sort of thing is present in a lot of quests. Some of them are seriously worth reading.
There's one in Grizzly Hills (Northrend) at the alliance town in the woods near the mill/smith/something. There's some nuts that you eat and it turns out they're magic or something so you go on a quest to find some herbs to make a laxative so you can "return the nuts". At the end of it they're given to some NPC who has to put them "back in the bucket again".
