World of Warcraft’s newest expansion World of Warcraft: Midnight has officially launched worldwide, and the first wave of updates and fixes is already arriving.

Following the global release, Blizzard has begun addressing early issues, rolling out small hotfixes, and highlighting a few launch-week bonuses for players exploring the Void invasion of Quel’Thalas.

Here’s what’s happening in the first 24 hours after launch.

Haranir Model Issues Being Fixed

The new Haranir allied race quickly became one of the most talked-about features of the expansion.

However, players reported a few early visual issues, including:

  • Gear clipping with certain armor pieces

  • Visibility bugs in some cutscenes

  • Minor animation inconsistencies

Blizzard has confirmed that hotfixes are already in development and will be deployed gradually over the coming week.

Free Battle Pet via Discord Quest

Blizzard is also offering a free battle pet as part of a limited promotional event tied to Discord.

Players can unlock the pet by completing a quick Discord quest connected to World of Warcraft. The promotion is intended to celebrate the launch and encourage community engagement.

Details are available through the official Warcraft Discord integration.

Launch-Day Technical Issues

As expected with a major expansion launch, some players experienced login or UI issues.

Blizzard Customer Support has recommended:

  • Restarting the game client

  • Updating or disabling outdated addons

  • Checking server status before reconnecting

Overall, however, the launch has been relatively smooth compared to previous expansion releases.

Guides and Theorycrafting Already Exploding

The community response to Midnight has been immediate.

Major guide sites have already begun publishing early breakdowns for:

  • Mythic 0 dungeon preparation

  • Sparks of Radiance crafting

  • profession treasures

  • housing teleports

  • new world events

Theorycrafting around new class designs and Apex talents is also ramping up across forums and social media.

Season 1 Still Coming March 17

Although Midnight is live, the competitive endgame race hasn’t begun yet.

Season 1 starts March 17, unlocking:

  • the first raid tier

  • Mythic+ dungeons

  • PvP season rankings

Until then, players are focusing on leveling, gearing, and experimenting with new builds introduced in the expansion.

Early Community Reaction

Initial reactions to Midnight have been broadly positive.

Players are praising:

  • the return to Quel’Thalas

  • the Void-themed story direction

  • revamped class identities

  • the long-awaited player housing system

As the first week progresses, more guides, hotfixes, and meta discussions are expected.
