Blizzard is running a Play with the Blues event for Void Assaults on the 12.0.5 PTR tonight, giving players a short window to jump in, play alongside the WoW dev team, and help stress-test one of the patch’s upcoming features. The test is scheduled for Friday, March 27, from 20:00 to 22:00 CET on any PTR realm.

This Is a Real PTR Test, Not Just a Casual Community Event

Blizzard’s official forum post makes it clear this is meant to be a proper systems test. Players are being sent to Zul’Aman to challenge Void Strikes and a Void Incursion happening across the zone, and Blizzard says it wants feedback from players across a wide range of levels and gear setups. The studio specifically says characters from level 80 to 90 can participate, with any gear level.

How to Join the Void Assaults Test

To get in, Blizzard says players need to pick up the quest “Void Strike” from Ranger Captain Lilatha in Silvermoon City, just north of the Bazaar on the second-floor balcony near Murder Row. After that, the event sends players to Zul’Aman for the actual test content.

Blizzard Is Clearly Putting Extra Weight on Void Assaults

This is not some random side post buried in the PTR forum. Blizzard also called out Incoming Void Assaults in its latest 12.0.5 PTR Development Notes, where it directly told players to join developers during today’s test window. That gives the feature a bit more weight than a normal one-off PTR invite and suggests Void Assaults are one of the systems Blizzard actively wants real player pressure on right now. That last point is an inference, but it is supported by Blizzard highlighting the event in both the standalone PTR post and the main development notes.

Why This One Matters

PTR events like this usually matter most when Blizzard wants to see what happens under real population pressure rather than limited internal testing. A two-hour live stress test with developers in the zone suggests Blizzard is trying to catch problems early, whether that means pacing issues, scaling problems, event flow, or plain old technical instability. That is inference rather than a direct Blizzard quote, but it is the obvious reason to run a scheduled stress test in the first place.

For players, the pitch is simple: if you want an early look at Void Assaults and do not mind helping Blizzard kick the tires on 12.0.5, tonight is the window.
