If you have been meaning to jump into Trial of Style, today is the deadline. Blizzard’s official event post says the latest run of the transmog competition is active from March 20 through March 27, which makes Friday, March 27, 2026 the final day to get in before the catwalk closes again.
This Is More Than a Throwaway Holiday Side Event
Blizzard is pitching this year’s Trial of Style as a proper Midnight-flavored refresh, not just the usual excuse to wear something ridiculous and hope five strangers respect your fashion choices. The event is entered by speaking to a transmogrifier in any major city, which queues players for a 6-player scenario built around themed transmog competitions.
Once inside, contestants get two minutes to build a look from items in their collection based on a prompted theme, then two players at a time step onto the stage while the other four vote on who nailed it better. Blizzard has also extended this version of the event into Quel’Thalas, tying it more directly into the Midnight setting.
Midnight Added New Quests and New Themes
One of the better reasons to care this time is that Blizzard added eight new “Work It!” quests around hubs in the four main zones of Quel’Thalas: Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm. Blizzard also says players can pick up the “Fashion Week” quest near the Trading Post in Silvermoon City, which points them toward Belli, the Trial of Style Envoy.
The official post also calls out six new themes for this version of the event, including Dungeon Dangers, Elemental Extremes, Mechanical Menace, and Jungle Jam. In other words, this is not just the same old mog contest with a fresh coat of glitter.
There Are Some Nice Quality-of-Life Perks Too
Blizzard added a temporary “Trial of Style” outfit slot for the event, and any appearance changes made to that slot cost no gold while the event is active. Blizzard also says transmogrification and barbershop services are free during the event, even for players who do not actually join the competition. That is a pretty nice little bonus for anyone who just wants to rework a few looks before the event disappears.
Rewards Are Still the Main Draw
On the reward side, Blizzard says winners and non-winners alike can earn Trial of Style prizes containing Trial of Style Tokens, which can be redeemed for special transmog gear in Dalaran. The event also includes a long list of collectible items and new cosmetic rewards, from sepia-themed outfits to hats, weapons, masks, and props for stage appearances.
Blizzard also notes that Trial of Style-related activities help players make progress on their Trading Post bar while the event is active, so there is a little extra value here beyond pure fashion bragging rights.
The Real Takeaway
This is basically your last call. If you wanted the free transmog perks, the temporary outfit slot, the new Quel’Thalas-themed quests, or just one more shot at winning a catwalk vote with an unnecessarily dramatic outfit, March 27 is the day to do it. After that, Trial of Style is back to being another thing players meant to do and forgot.
