Siegecrafter Blackfuse is one of those raid bosses that already feels like someone turned an engineering exam into a murder room.

Belts. Mines. Lasers. Saw Blades. Shredders. A boss arena that looks less like a raid encounter and more like Garrosh hired a goblin safety inspector, then immediately ignored every recommendation.

Now Mists of Pandaria Classic has received a small but important Blackfuse hotfix: Saw Blades now deal damage to Automated Shredders.

That may sound like a tiny mechanical note. On Blackfuse, tiny mechanical notes are how raids either kill the boss cleanly or spend the next ten minutes explaining why the tank is somehow surrounded by industrial equipment and regret.

What Blizzard Fixed

Blizzard’s June 10 hotfix notes list a simple Siege of Orgrimmar change for Siegecrafter Blackfuse: Saw Blades now deal damage to Automated Shredders.

Wowhead’s coverage confirms the same fix for Mists of Pandaria Classic, noting that Saw Blades should now correctly damage Automated Shredders in the encounter.

Short note. Big fight. Classic situation.

Why This Actually Matters

Automated Shredders are not random background trash. They are part of what makes Blackfuse such a stressful encounter.

Tanks have to manage them properly, the raid has to keep the fight under control, and every extra bit of damage or positioning value matters. When encounter mechanics are supposed to interact with adds, and they do not, the fight starts feeling wrong in a way that is hard to ignore.

Blackfuse is already built around controlled chaos. If one piece of that machine fails, the entire fight can feel more awkward than intended.

Saw Blades Are Supposed to Be Dangerous

The funny thing about Saw Blades is that players spend most of the fight trying not to be cut into decorative raid paste by them.

But on Blackfuse, danger can also be a tool. If Shredders can be damaged by Saw Blades, then positioning and awareness become more meaningful. It gives the encounter another layer beyond “avoid the bad” and moves it closer to “use the bad correctly.”

That is good raid design when it works.

When it does not work, it becomes yet another reason for someone in voice chat to say, “Wait, was that supposed to happen?” which is never a phrase that improves morale.

Blackfuse Is Still Blackfuse

This hotfix does not suddenly turn Siegecrafter Blackfuse into a loot piñata.

The fight is still a mechanics-heavy Siege of Orgrimmar wall. Players still need to handle belts, deal with Shredders, manage platform chaos, and avoid turning the room into a full-service raid disaster.

But the fix should make one important interaction behave the way players expect it to behave.

And in a fight like Blackfuse, where the whole encounter is basically a moving parts nightmare, predictable mechanics matter a lot.

Siege Week Cleanup Continues

Mists of Pandaria Classic’s Siege phase has already had its share of small gremlins, from quest issues to raid-specific fixes.

That is not shocking. Siege of Orgrimmar is massive, and Blackfuse is one of the more complicated bosses in the entire raid. If something weird was going to slip through, the industrial death factory boss was always a strong candidate.

The good news is that Blizzard has now cleaned up this Saw Blade interaction.

The bad news is that you still have to kill Siegecrafter Blackfuse.

So sharpen the assignments, watch the floor, respect the machinery, and maybe stop standing where the saws are, unless you are an Automated Shredder. In that case, please continue.
