Three of its original dungeon achievements are not coming with it.
Blizzard has confirmed that Snake Eyes, Snake Eater and Good Night, Sweet Prince will all go away when Midnight Season 1 ends.
So if your achievement panel still contains three unfinished snake-related chores from Battle for Azeroth, the deadline has finally stopped being theoretical.
Three Temple of Sethraliss Achievements Are Going Away
The affected achievements are:
Snake Eyes: Activate both eyes and exit the Bazaar within ten seconds on Mythic difficulty.
Snake Eater: Force the Solid Egg to hatch during the Merektha encounter, defeat the resulting Solid Snake and complete the achievement on Mythic difficulty.
Good Night, Sweet Prince: Restore the Avatar of Sethraliss while the Prince is active on Mythic difficulty.
These are not seasonal Season 1 achievements created for Midnight.
They are old Battle for Azeroth dungeon achievements that have survived since 2018.
Temple of Sethraliss returning in a reworked form is finally making their original mechanics incompatible with the modern dungeon.
The Season 2 Rework Is the Reason
Blizzard directly connects the removals to the upcoming changes being made to Temple of Sethraliss for Midnight Season 2.
Returning dungeons rarely arrive in Mythic+ exactly as players remember them.
Enemy abilities are updated, encounters are shortened or rebuilt, awkward mechanics are removed and the dungeon is adjusted for the current class toolkit and seasonal difficulty curve.
That process can also destroy the conditions required by old achievements.
If an encounter no longer contains the same object, add or timing window, the achievement cannot simply remain available and pretend nothing happened.
In this case, Blizzard has chosen retirement rather than attempting to rebuild all three challenges around the new version.
Snake Eyes Is the Bazaar Coordination Test
Snake Eyes requires the group to activate both eyes and escape the Bazaar within ten seconds.
The normal dungeon sequence involves carrying the eyes through the room while Orb Guardians attempt to interfere.
For the achievement, players must prepare both eyes, coordinate their final placements and complete the escape almost simultaneously.
It is not mechanically complicated by modern standards.
It is, however, the kind of achievement that can become strangely difficult when five players begin solving slightly different versions of the same plan in party chat.
The safest approach is to clear nearby enemies, move both eyes close to their destinations and agree on exactly when each carrier will finish.
“Just do it at the same time” remains one of WoW’s most dangerous instructions.
Snake Eater Requires an Extra Merektha Add
Snake Eater takes place during the Merektha encounter.
The group must force the Solid Egg to hatch, defeat the Solid Snake that emerges and then finish the encounter.
Like many dungeon achievements, it asks players to deliberately create an additional problem during a boss fight and then act surprised when the fight becomes messier.
The key is controlling damage so the group does not accidentally end the encounter before completing the required sequence.
Players should also avoid destroying or bypassing the relevant egg before everyone is ready.
Modern characters may significantly outgear the original dungeon, which makes accidental damage more dangerous than the extra enemy itself.
Removing gear or slowing down can be more useful than bringing another round of heroic confidence and deleting the mechanic.
Good Night, Sweet Prince Is the Strange One
Good Night, Sweet Prince requires the group to restore the Avatar of Sethraliss while the Prince is active.
The Prince is created by interacting with one of the Plague Toads during the final encounter.
Players traditionally use the kiss emote on the toads until one transforms into the required Prince.
Yes, this is a dungeon achievement about keeping a magical frog prince alive while healing an enormous snake deity.
Battle for Azeroth contained many problems, but lack of commitment to bizarre achievement design was not one of them.
The achievement is best handled by creating the Prince early enough that the group can confirm it is active before completing the Avatar restoration sequence.
Avoid rushing the final encounter, especially with highly geared characters capable of completing each phase almost immediately.
They Are Part of Glory of the Wartorn Hero
All three achievements count toward Glory of the Wartorn Hero.
That Battle for Azeroth dungeon meta-achievement rewards the Reins of the Obsidian Krolusk mount.
This makes the retirement more important than losing three isolated achievement entries.
Players still working toward the mount may find their broader meta-achievement route blocked once the Temple of Sethraliss challenges disappear.
Blizzard’s announcement does not describe a replacement requirement or explain how the Glory meta will be handled after Season 1.
Completionists should therefore treat these three achievements as urgent rather than assuming the meta will automatically become easier.
When Blizzard says something is going away, waiting for the achievement panel to explain the consequences afterward is rarely the optimal strategy.
You May Need a Level 90 Character Once Season 2 Begins
Blizzard also notes that Temple of Sethraliss, King’s Rest and Ruby Life Pools on Heroic and Mythic difficulty will only be available to level 90 characters during Season 2.
After Season 2 concludes, those versions are expected to return to their original level requirements.
That access change is separate from the achievement retirement.
Even if the older dungeon becomes accessible at its former level again later, Blizzard says the three Temple achievements themselves are going away with the rework.
Waiting for the dungeon to rotate back out is therefore not a reliable solution.
Modern Damage Can Make Old Achievements Harder
The good news is that current characters can overpower most of Temple of Sethraliss.
The bad news is that overpowering the dungeon can break the exact setup required for these achievements.
Bosses may die before adds appear. Objects may be destroyed by passive damage. A tank may accidentally finish a phase while the rest of the group is still explaining the plan.
Players should consider using fewer people, removing powerful gear pieces or temporarily disabling automatic damage effects.
Pets, damage-over-time abilities, trinket procs and passive area damage can all become achievement-killing enthusiasm.
This is one of those situations where playing worse on purpose is the advanced strategy.
Do Not Leave All Three Until the Final Reset
Blizzard has warned that Midnight Season 1 is ending, but it has not provided the official end date in the announcement.
That makes procrastination riskier than usual.
Temple of Sethraliss is not a one-button solo achievement run. Snake Eyes benefits from coordination, Snake Eater requires controlled encounter execution and Good Night, Sweet Prince depends on a specific interaction during the final boss.
Finding a group willing to do all three may also become harder as the deadline approaches.
Everyone assumes someone else will organise the achievement run until the final evening, when the group finder suddenly contains seventeen listings titled “LAST CHANCE KNOW WHAT TO DO.”
The Rework Is Deleting a Small Piece of Dungeon History
Updating old dungeons for modern Mythic+ is generally healthy.
Temple of Sethraliss was designed for a very different version of WoW, and some of its encounters need changes before returning as competitive timed content.
Still, retiring old achievements removes some of the dungeon’s original personality.
These challenges encouraged players to engage with mechanics that ordinary clears could ignore.
They turned environmental objects, optional enemies and one deeply suspicious frog into reasons to revisit the dungeon.
The Season 2 version may be cleaner and better suited to Mythic+.
It will also be a version where kissing plague toads no longer contributes meaningfully to character progression.
Progress always has a price.
Finish Them Before Season 2
Players who already earned Snake Eyes, Snake Eater and Good Night, Sweet Prince do not need to do anything.
Anyone still missing them should complete the achievements before Midnight Season 1 ends.
Prioritise them especially if you still need Glory of the Wartorn Hero and its Obsidian Krolusk mount.
Temple of Sethraliss is returning in Season 2.
The dungeon will still contain snakes, poison and groups blaming each other for failed mechanics.
It just will not contain these three achievement opportunities anymore.
