World of Warcraft just made Corrosive Coin farming considerably better for anyone with an alt army. A September 9 hotfix changes Ral’kala so that every eligible character can now receive 500 Corrosive Coin once per day after reaching Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 6. Before the fix, only the first character on the account received the guaranteed daily reward, quietly turning what was supposed to be an alt-friendly Season 2 bonus into a surprisingly strict one-character allowance.

The important wording is per character, per day. Once the Rank 6 Care to Barter? reward has been unlocked, defeating Ral’kala, Terror of the Isle can give each character another 500 Corrosive Coin every day. Blizzard’s original Midnight Season 2 reward breakdown already described the bonus this way, so the September 9 change appears to be fixing live behavior rather than introducing an entirely new reward.

For one character, that is useful.

For ten characters, it becomes accounting.

Ral’kala Now Gives 500 Corrosive Coin Per Character Per Day

The hotfix is straightforward:

  • Reach Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 6.
  • Unlock Care to Barter?.
  • Defeat Ral’kala, Terror of the Isle.
  • Receive an additional 500 Corrosive Coin.
  • Repeat on each eligible character once per day.

Before September 9, the guaranteed reward stopped after the first character claimed it. Blizzard has now explicitly corrected that limitation so each character can receive the 500 Coin bonus independently.

The reward also does not benefit from Whispers from De Other Side. The amount is a fixed 500 Corrosive Coin rather than something you can multiply through the Season 2 catch-up buff.

That matters because Patch 12.1 already contains several systems where additional characters can accelerate progression. We previously covered how each level 90 alt can collect six guaranteed Corrosive Souls through the weekly Season 2 loop. Ral’kala now adds a daily currency reason to rotate through those same characters.

Five Alts Can Produce 2,500 Corrosive Coin Per Day

The numbers scale very quickly.

  • 1 character — 500 Coin per day
  • 2 characters — 1,000 Coin per day
  • 5 characters — 2,500 Coin per day
  • 10 characters — 5,000 Coin per day

If you somehow maintain the routine every day for a full week, five characters could collect 17,500 Corrosive Coin from this bonus alone. Ten characters could theoretically produce 35,000.

Whether anyone should actually turn ten daily Ral’kala kills into a lifestyle choice is a separate question.

World of Warcraft provides opportunities.

It does not necessarily provide interventions.

Why Corrosive Coin Still Matters in Season 2

Corrosive Coin is primarily tied to progression inside the Vaults of Atal’Utek and the Altar of Corrosion. Players spend the currency to purchase Spirit Corrosion points and unlock increasingly powerful traits for outdoor content and Delves.

The costs become dramatically higher as you progress through the system. Early Spirit Corrosion points cost only a few thousand Corrosive Coin, but later upgrades climb into five-figure territory. Completing the main purchasable progression requires a substantial total investment, which makes another guaranteed 500 Coin source much more attractive than the number initially appears.

That progression also connects directly to collectors. Our guide to the four hidden Altar of Corrosion powers explains how completing the full system contributes to Fully Corroded, which in turn feeds into the Assault the Vault meta-achievement and its Venomous Coiler mount.

You still need the hidden unlock items for those special nodes. An enormous pile of coins cannot replace the treasure-hunt portion.

The Altar respects both wealth and administrative suffering.

This Makes the Coiled Isle Even Better for Alts

The Ral’kala hotfix fits a broader Season 2 trend toward making the Coiled Isle worthwhile on multiple characters.

Blizzard already fixed the Coiled Isle portal so alts can use the shortcut from Silvermoon, removing one of the most irritating barriers to repeating activities across a Warband. Once there, characters can work on Prey, Vault activities, Corrosive Souls, Delves, Curse Surges and several gearing objectives during the same visit.

That overlap is the key to making the new 500 Coin farm sensible.

If you are logging onto an alt purely to kill Ral’kala for 500 Coin and immediately leaving, the value depends heavily on how badly you want the currency. If that character is already visiting the Coiled Isle for weekly Souls, Prey progress or Vault rewards, however, adding Ral’kala becomes much easier to justify.

We highlighted the same efficiency when Mythic Nymrissa combined gear, Great Vault credit, Mistcrests and Corrosive Souls in a single activity. Patch 12.1 works best when several poisonous chores can be annoyed with simultaneously.

Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 6 Is the Important Requirement

You do not receive the guaranteed 500 Coin simply for finding Ral’kala.

The bonus comes from Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 6, where the Care to Barter? reward unlocks the extra daily currency. Season 2’s Preyhunter progression contains several similar account-progression rewards, including extra Corrosive Souls, Housing decor, cosmetics and later Hero-track gearing opportunities.

Rank 6 is therefore the important threshold for this particular farm. If you have not reached it yet, killing Ral’kala does not magically create another 500 Coin simply because the alt looked enthusiastic.

Once Rank 6 is unlocked, however, the September 9 hotfix means your character roster becomes considerably more useful.

Ral’kala Already Gives Alts More Than Just Coins

Ral’kala was already part of the Season 2 alt loop before this fix.

At Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 3, defeating Ral’kala provides two additional Corrosive Souls once per day, per character, with another chance for bonus Souls on subsequent kills. That makes the boss valuable for players still working through Corrosive progression even before Rank 6 adds the guaranteed Coin reward.

This is why our earlier six guaranteed Corrosive Souls alt route remains useful. Multiple characters were already capable of contributing meaningful weekly progress. Now characters that have reached the later Preyhunter threshold can add a repeatable daily currency payout on top.

Blizzard has essentially turned Ral’kala into a small poisonous ATM.

The withdrawal process involves combat.

You May Already Have Another Daily Corrosive Coin Source

Players who have completed the Spirit of Tok’jara quest chain also have another reason to remember their daily Vault routine. After earning the mount, Du’gal continues offering daily objectives that can reward 200 Corrosive Coin.

We covered that in our Spirit of Tok’jara six-day mount guide. Combined with Ral’kala’s now-corrected alt reward, characters progressing heavily through the Vaults can stack several daily sources rather than relying entirely on random Coin drops.

Again, the efficient approach is combining activities.

Take the portal.

Do the Prey objective.

Kill Ral’kala.

Complete any useful Vault daily.

Leave before the poisoned underground temple convinces you it is your permanent residence.

The September 9 Hotfix Makes the Original Rank 6 Reward Work Properly

The most important distinction is that Blizzard has not suddenly transformed Ral’kala into a completely new farm.

Care to Barter? was already described as awarding 500 Corrosive Coin once per day, per character.

The live implementation was the problem.

Until the September 9 hotfix, only the first character received the guaranteed daily reward. That restriction is now gone.

So if you tried farming Ral’kala across several alts earlier in Season 2 and discovered the second character received nothing, it is worth trying again.

One character: 500 Coin.

Five characters: 2,500.

Ten characters: 5,000.

Every day.

The Warband has found seasonal employment.
