Brewfest is back in World of Warcraft, which means Azeroth has once again temporarily decided that riding rams while heavily intoxicated counts as a legitimate seasonal activity.
The 2026 version is now live and runs from September 20 through October 6. This year is considerably more than the usual return of sausages, Brewfest Prize Tokens and another daily trip downstairs to bother Coren Direbrew. Midnight has brought new quests across Quel’Thalas, two new Brewer transmog sets and a proper outdoor Brewfest Banquet scenario where players effectively become Azeroth's least regulated catering company.
Players can begin the new festivities by speaking with the Holiday Enthusiast in Silvermoon City, while the traditional Brewfest celebrations continue around Ironforge and Orgrimmar. If you have been following our earlier coverage of the Brewfest Housing vendors that appeared before the event even started, those decorations are still part of the festival, but thankfully there is considerably more to do than buy beer crates for the garden.
Two New Brewer Transmog Sets
The big collectible additions are two new recolors of the Brewer outfit. Completing the Brewfest Banquet can reward pieces from the Brewer's Purple Set and Brewer's Red Set, with each version consisting of a beret, shoulder cape, belt and kilt.
They join the growing pile of seasonal cosmetics that have made WoW's older holidays increasingly relevant again. We saw much the same approach with the new rewards added to the 2026 Midsummer Fire Festival. Blizzard is clearly happier these days giving veteran players something new to chase rather than simply reopening the same tent every year and hoping nostalgia does the rest.
The Brewfest Banquet Turns Players Into Restaurant Staff
The more interesting addition is the Brewfest Banquet, a cooperative outdoor scenario where players work together to serve as many NPC customers as possible. Before joining the culinary disaster, everyone chooses one of three roles.
- Gatherer: Defeat nearby enemies and collect ingredients for the kitchen.
- Cook: Turn those ingredients into pretzels, soup and brew.
- Server: Deliver the finished food and drinks to waiting customers.
The goal is simply to score as many points as possible by keeping the entire production line moving. In other words, WoW has finally discovered the true endgame: working hospitality while several strangers fail to bring you the ingredients you asked for.
The banquet also gives the new Brewer transmogs a proper activity rather than simply dumping them onto another vendor. That makes them considerably more interesting to collect than yet another cosmetic purchased after counting how many tokens are left in an old currency tab.
Bar Tabs Send You Drinking Around Midnight
Brewfest 2026 also expands the Bar Tab system into Midnight zones. Players can find Bar Tab Barrels at taverns and inns across places including Silvermoon, Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar and the Voidstorm, donate toward the tab and work toward the new A Round on the House in Midnight achievement.
Brewfest Prize Tokens remain the main event currency, so anyone suddenly discovering that Housing has given those tokens another purpose may want to budget carefully. As we covered when Brewfest and Hallow's End decorations first appeared, seasonal currency is now competing for yet another category of collectible. Mounts, toys, clothes, furniture. Eventually Azeroth will invent a mortgage.
Coren Direbrew Still Has the Mount Everyone Wants
Some traditions remain pleasantly unchanged. Coren Direbrew is back in Blackrock Depths as the seasonal boss, with epic gear, trinkets and rare mounts among his rewards. More importantly, players get a once-daily chance at the Brewfest Barrel Bomber, giving collectors another reason to visit the old Dark Iron troublemaker every day until either the mount drops or October 6 arrives.
Long-time collectors can also still chase familiar Brewfest prizes such as the Great Brewfest Kodo and Swift Brewfest Ram, both relics from the era when seasonal mounts were enough to make an entire server queue for the same boss.
We have come rather a long way since our look at Brewfest back in 2023. The basic formula is still wonderfully silly, but the 2026 event has enough genuinely new material that this does not feel like another annual login checklist.
There are new clothes, new quests, a restaurant to operate and another mount refusing to drop.
So yes, Brewfest is definitely back.
