World of Warcraft’s Winds of Mysterious Fortune event is back, and Blizzard has added a remarkably easy reason to log in: 500 Trader’s Tender for visiting the game on five different days. You do not need to complete a raid, grind a reputation or persuade four strangers that your Mythic+ route is definitely standard. Simply log in with any character on five separate days during the event and complete the new Winds of Particularly Mysterious Fortune Feat of Strength. The 500 Tender can then be collected from the Collector’s Cache.
The event runs alongside the regional weekly resets: September 8–22 in North America and September 9–23 in Europe. That gives players roughly two weeks to record five login days. Blizzard has also brought back the familiar 20% experience bonus, 50% reputation bonus and Mysterious Satchels, making this one of the easiest periods of Midnight Season 2 to level neglected alts or finish older reputation grinds. The September version is significantly more useful than the Winds of Mysterious Fortune event we covered before Midnight launched, because the XP buff now extends to level 89 and the five-day Tender reward did not exist in that version.
Log In on Five Different Days for 500 Trader’s Tender
The new reward is attached to the Feat of Strength Winds of Particularly Mysterious Fortune. Progress is about as complicated as Blizzard could reasonably make a login achievement without requiring paperwork:
- Log in during the event on five different days.
- You can use any character.
- Complete the Winds of Particularly Mysterious Fortune Feat of Strength.
- Collect 500 Trader’s Tender from the Collector’s Cache.
You therefore do not need five consecutive days, and there is no reason to panic if you miss tomorrow. As long as five separate login days are recorded before the event ends with your region’s weekly reset, you can earn the full reward.
The timing could hardly be better for collectors. September’s enormous Trading Post Outlet has brought back years of older mounts, pets and monthly bonus rewards, including several items costing 700, 800 or even 900 Tender. We also just found future Patch 12.1.5 Trading Post rewards including 700-Tender chef uniforms and 500-Tender Bunmover mounts.
Five logins for another 500 Tender is therefore not exactly unwelcome.
It is almost as though Blizzard has seen September’s cosmetic bill.
The XP Buff Works From Level 10 to 89
Characters from level 10 through 89 automatically receive 20% increased experience from all sources while Winds of Mysterious Fortune is active. That makes the event useful for everything from forgotten low-level alts to characters sitting painfully close to Midnight’s level 90 cap.
The level range is one of the important differences from the January version. During the pre-Midnight event, the bonus was designed primarily to push characters through the old leveling range before the expansion arrived. Now the same system extends all the way to 89, letting players use it as genuine Midnight catch-up.
There is another layer available through Mysterious Satchels. These can contain 10% experience potions, which stack with the base Winds buff to provide a maximum of 30% bonus experience. Blizzard says those XP potions are Warbound and can be saved even after the event ends, so unused bottles can be transferred to another character later rather than desperately consumed at 22:57 on the final evening.
Mysterious Satchels Are Back for Characters Below Level 90
Players below level 90 can earn Mysterious Satchels while questing and killing enemies during the event. Their contents can include temporary stat or elemental buffs, visual transformation effects, specialization-appropriate gear and the experience potions mentioned above.
The first Mysterious Satchel your character earns each day is a Pristine Mysterious Satchel, which has an improved chance of containing the more valuable rewards. That gives players who are leveling several alts a small reason to rotate characters rather than spending the entire two-week event exclusively on one increasingly exhausted Paladin.
The temporary combat potions have an important restriction. Their stat and elemental effects do not function in raids, Mythic+, or rated PvP. This is leveling and open-world assistance, not a seasonal consumable system that requires every Mythic raider to begin farming random bags.
For once, the suspicious magical satchel is optional.
You Also Get 50% More Reputation
The Winds buff provides 50% increased reputation gains with factions worldwide. That makes these two weeks especially useful for older reputations attached to mounts, toys, transmog, recipes and Housing rewards.
There are two important Midnight exceptions:
- Zul’jarra’s Forces
- Captain Tokka’s Crew
Those current reputations are excluded from the bonus, which prevents players from accelerating the newest progression tracks by 50%. Everything else covered by the buff becomes considerably faster.
The timing is especially attractive for old Legion and Battle for Azeroth grinds because Patch 12.1.5 will make many Legion and BFA reputations Warband-wide. If you have an old reputation sitting just short of Exalted, finishing it during a 50% reputation event before the conversion is not a bad way to spend some otherwise neglected world quests.
Housing has also made reputation increasingly relevant again. Old factions that once offered cosmetics you ignored can now become sources of decor, and Blizzard has repeatedly been using existing currencies and reputation systems rather than creating an entirely separate Housing economy. Yesterday alone, we found 84 Shadowlands Housing decorations giving Reservoir Anima a new purpose.
Your abandoned expansion progress keeps finding work.
The 500 Tender Is Particularly Valuable This September
Normally, 500 Trader’s Tender would already be a meaningful bonus. This September it is especially valuable because Blizzard has produced one of the most expensive Trading Post periods in the system’s history.
The Outlet contains returning mounts and old monthly rewards that can individually cost almost an entire normal month’s Tender income. Patch 12.1.5 is meanwhile loading additional rewards into future rotations, and new mounts such as the Bunmover family are already lined up for the collector economy.
There is more free Tender available this week too. BlizzCon 2026 viewership rewards include another 200 Trader’s Tender after two hours of eligible viewing, alongside Housing decor, a toy and the Fluffy Comfy Flying Quilt mount later in the reward track.
Combine that with Winds of Particularly Mysterious Fortune and players can collect 700 bonus Trader’s Tender from these two promotions alone.
That still may not be enough to buy everything you want from September’s Outlet.
But at least bankruptcy has been delayed.
Winds of Mysterious Fortune Runs for Two Weeks
The important thing is not to leave the login achievement until the final weekend. You need five different login days, so somebody discovering the event four days before the reset cannot compensate by logging in and out repeatedly while looking increasingly betrayed.
For European players, the event runs from September 9 through the September 23 weekly reset. North American players get the equivalent window from September 8 through September 22.
During that period you have three very straightforward reasons to participate:
- 500 Trader’s Tender for five login days.
- 20% bonus XP from level 10–89, potentially reaching 30% with the satchel potion.
- 50% bonus reputation with almost every faction in the game.
Level an alt.
Finish an old reputation.
Collect some mysterious bags.
Or simply log in five times and take the currency.
The Winds of Mysterious Fortune are apparently extremely understanding about commitment.
