That fits the progression structure Blizzard has been quietly building around Labyrinths. We already know Kindo’jan’s Labyrinth is considerably larger and more complicated than a normal Delve, while four permanent glove enhancements provide additional power specifically inside Delves and Labyrinths. Now the activity also appears to have a direct route into Myth-track armor.
Apparently getting lost needed better rewards.
The Labyrinth Questline Has Six Steps
PTR data currently contains two relevant quests:
- Into the Labyrinth — described as the introductory Labyrinth questline.
- The Labyrinth of Kindo’Jan — described as a six-step weekly-unlocked questline that rewards two Myth armor pieces of your choice.
The phrase “weekly-unlocked” is important. Current datamining does not clearly prove that players will receive two Myth pieces every single week indefinitely. The safer interpretation is that the questline progresses through weekly-gated steps and eventually awards the two pieces, similar to how WoW has used staged introductory gearing questlines in other systems.
Until Blizzard publishes the full quest text or players can test the complete chain, we should not turn “weekly unlocked” into “two free Myth items every Tuesday.”
That would be a considerably different economy.
You Get to Choose the Two Myth Armor Pieces
The other important word is choice.
Random high-end gear is useful until it becomes the fourth pair of shoulders you did not need. A reward that lets players select the armor pieces they actually want is much more valuable, particularly late in a season when individual slots can lag far behind the rest of a character’s equipment.
We do not yet know how broad that choice will be. Blizzard could offer a fixed selection of Labyrinth armor, several slot tokens or another form of controlled reward. The current datamine simply says two Myth armor pieces of your choice.
What it does tell us is that Labyrinths are being positioned alongside serious Season 2 gearing rather than merely rewarding Champion or Hero equipment because the content happens to support solo play.
That distinction matters. Patch 12.1.5 already gives Tier 11 Delve players access to Ascendant Venomstones, connecting high-end solo content to the same late-season upgrade system used by Heroic and Mythic raiders and +10 Mythic+ players. Two selectable Myth armor pieces push that connection considerably further.
We Do Not Know the Item Level Yet
This is where the word Myth needs some context.
Season 2 Myth gear exists across several upgrade levels. Ordinary Myth-track items do not automatically mean item level 344, and Blizzard has not yet revealed what upgrade level the two Labyrinth rewards will start at.
That makes them different from Mythic Kith’ix loot, which currently drops directly at item level 344 / Myth 9/6. Kith’ix is explicitly positioned at the extreme end of the Season 2 item-level ladder. The Labyrinth reward has only been identified as Myth armor so far.
Even if the pieces begin at Myth 1/6 rather than somewhere near the ceiling, selectable Myth-track armor would still be highly valuable. It gives players a guaranteed starting point on the strongest ordinary upgrade track rather than hoping their weekly Vault finally stops offering three belts.
We have already seen how much value targeted rewards carry in Season 2. our Great Vault strategy guide explains why controlled access to specific gearing opportunities can be more valuable than simply taking the highest random item, while Nebulous Voidcores have made targeted raid loot part of the seasonal gearing plan.
Labyrinths appear to be applying the same lesson to solo progression.
The Labyrinth Has Nine Chambers
The reward datamine also gives us more information about how large the activity actually is.
The Labyrinth of Kindo’jan contains nine chambers.
Players can apparently tackle the structure in smaller pieces or complete all nine chambers during one extended run. That aligns with the enormous map we covered earlier this week, which showed a sprawling network of interconnected pathways rather than the comparatively compact layout of a normal Delve.
Several achievements specifically track chamber completion:
- Complete 100 total chambers.
- Complete all nine chambers in one run.
- Complete all nine chambers in one run on Tier 11 for the Maze Runner title.
That is increasingly looking like Blizzard’s answer to a solo-friendly mega-dungeon. You can engage with it in smaller chunks, but the game also rewards players willing to complete the entire structure in one uninterrupted expedition.
Presumably after bringing snacks.
Kindo’jan Has Multiple Tier 11 Solo Rewards
The high-end achievements make the progression structure even clearer.
We already covered the first-week Tier 11 solo achievement that awards Fabled Vanquisher of Kindo’jan. That remains the limited Hall of Fame-style challenge: defeat Kindo’jan alone before the first reset following his introduction.
But it is not the only solo objective.
Current PTR achievements also include:
- Defeat Kindo’jan solo on Tier 11 during Midnight Season 2 — rewards the Loa-Blessed Wayfarer mount.
- Complete all nine chambers and defeat Kindo’jan solo on Tier 11 without losing a life — rewards the Lone Raider title.
So players who miss the first-week prestige title still have substantial reasons to master the Labyrinth later in the season.
The difference between “I finished the Labyrinth” and “I completed all nine chambers alone on Tier 11 without dying” is likely to be noticeable.
Mostly around chamber six.
Ancient Chests Contain New Toys
Not everything in the Labyrinth is about item level.
Several new toys are currently tied to Ancient Chests hidden throughout Kindo’jan’s Labyrinth:
- Trail of Halazzi
- Nalorakk’s Strength Charm
- Feathers of Akil’zon
- Rite of Jan’alai’s Flame
Kindo’jan himself can drop another toy called Loa-Blessed Victory.
There are also exploration achievements for finding all Ancient Chests, collecting Mislaid Oddities, gathering three Elemental Hexmasks and discovering a hidden locked door. Opening every Ancient Chest awards the Treasure Hound title, while repeatedly opening the hidden door eventually grants Lockpickin’.
That is a useful detail because it shows Blizzard wants exploration to matter beyond the shortest possible route to the final boss. The Labyrinth contains rewards for players who deliberately investigate its side areas rather than treating every chamber as something standing between them and the weekly chest.
Labyrinth Progression Is Becoming Its Own Endgame Pillar
The Myth armor reward makes the larger Patch 12.1.5 design much easier to read.
Labyrinth players will potentially have:
- Two selectable Myth armor rewards through the questline.
- Delve-specific Ancient Hash’ey Battle Art glove enhancements.
- Ascendant Venomstones from high-end Delve content.
- A Tier 11 solo mount.
- Multiple prestigious titles.
- Hidden toys and treasure rewards.
- A nine-chamber endurance challenge.
That is a much more complete progression ecosystem than simply making Delves longer.
It also places Labyrinths beside another major Patch 12.1.5 gearing source. Kith’ix gives raiders new Myth 9/6 loot and Cantrip armor, while Labyrinths give solo and small-group players a separate route toward Myth gear and late-season upgrades.
The reward levels are not identical, and they should not be. But the philosophies are increasingly parallel.
Do difficult content.
Get meaningful gear.
Choose how social you want the experience to be.
Two Myth Pieces May Be the Reward That Makes Labyrinths Mandatory Viewing
We still need Blizzard to answer several important questions before anyone writes a final gearing plan.
Which armor slots can you select?
What item level do the pieces start at?
Are they eligible for Catalyst conversion?
Is the questline account-wide, character-specific or Warband-friendly?
And most importantly, does “six-step weekly-unlocked questline” mean six gated stages culminating in one two-piece reward, or something Blizzard intends to make repeatable later?
Those details can change the value dramatically.
But the broad picture is already clear.
Patch 12.1.5’s Labyrinth is not merely giving you another place to kill monsters alone.
It is giving you nine chambers, hidden treasures, Delve-only enhancements, Tier 11 prestige rewards and eventually two Myth armor pieces you get to choose yourself.
The maze has loot.
Now everybody will suddenly remember how to navigate.
