That should sound familiar to anyone who spent Midnight Season 2’s opening week fighting Azta’rec. We previously covered the first-week Fabled Vanquisher of Azta’rec challenge, which asked players to defeat the Season 2 Nemesis boss solo before the opening reset. Patch 12.1.5 appears to be taking that same prestige idea and attaching it to Blizzard’s new Labyrinth system.
You Need to Beat Kindo’jan Solo on Tier 11
The currently datamined achievement requirement is extremely specific:
Defeat Kindo’jan in his Labyrinth on Tier 11 without any other players in your party, before the first reset following his introduction.
The reward is:
Fabled Vanquisher of Kindo’jan
There is no ambiguity about the social requirement. This is a solo achievement. Bringing another player along may make the Labyrinth considerably more comfortable, but it also removes the entire reason you are doing this particular version.
That makes it another important deadline to add once Patch 12.1.5 actually receives its final release date. Unlike a normal achievement you can comfortably return to after another month of gear, this title specifically cares whether you could complete the challenge immediately.
Labyrinths Are Much Bigger Than Ordinary Delves
The intriguing part is that Kindo’jan is tied to a Labyrinth, not a standard Delve Nemesis encounter.
Blizzard describes Labyrinths as sprawling Delve-style adventures that sit closer to a mega-dungeon in scale. Players can tackle one in a longer session or work through its sections over time, while retaining the ability to adventure solo or with a small group. We have been tracking the feature since Patch 12.1.5 first appeared on the Battle.net launcher, and Labyrinths have consistently been presented as the update’s biggest new activity.
That makes the achievement potentially more interesting than simply placing another hard enemy inside a familiar room. Current datamining suggests Kindo’jan may be the final boss of the first Labyrinth, which could mean your first-week solo challenge includes actually reaching him rather than repeatedly pulling a standalone Nemesis boss from a nearby checkpoint.
Exactly how punishing that journey will be is still unknown. Patch 12.1.5 is on the PTR, and Blizzard has not yet published the full Kindo’jan encounter or final Labyrinth structure. Datamined achievements tell us the target. They do not tell us how many times the corridors will make us regret finding it.
Azta’rec Already Proved Players Will Chase These Titles
Blizzard has a recent template for this kind of reward. Midnight Season 2 gave Azta’rec two different solo goals: a longer-term challenge connected to his mount and a much more urgent first-week achievement awarding the Fabled title.
That distinction mattered enough that we specifically warned players not to confuse Azta’rec’s permanent seasonal rewards with the disappearing first-week title. Better gear could help with the mount later. It could not bring the Fabled title back once the reset happened.
Azta’rec also gave serious players additional reasons to push Delves early. his one-time rewards could provide Hero and Myth Mistcrests beyond the normal weekly cap, while Nightmare Prey Hunts created another route into valuable Delve rewards. What had originally been presented as flexible solo content had quietly developed its own opening-week optimization culture.
Kindo’jan looks ready to continue it.
Tier 11 Is a Different Kind of Requirement
There is also an interesting difference in difficulty language. Azta’rec’s prestige encounter used the special Tier ?? Nemesis format. Kindo’jan’s current achievement instead explicitly says Tier 11.
Tier 11 is already familiar to current Delve players. We have previously warned that completing a Tier 11 Delve can interact with early Season 2 Keystone acquisition, while Patch 12.1.5’s new Ascendant Venomstone system will also use Tier 11 Bountiful Delves as one of its high-end reward sources.
The difference suggests Blizzard may want the Labyrinth challenge to test endurance, route knowledge and the new activity itself rather than simply creating another isolated Nemesis difficulty above the normal Delve ladder.
We will know much more once Kindo’jan becomes properly testable.
This Could Become Delves’ Version of a Mini Race to World First
The smartest part of the Fabled system is that it gives solo players something WoW traditionally reserves for organized groups: a meaningful opening-week prestige race.
You do not need nineteen raid teammates.
You do not need a Mythic+ push group.
You do not need to compete for one of only a few thousand leaderboard positions.
You simply need to defeat the challenge alone while it is still new and before additional weeks of gear make it easier.
That fits what Delves have gradually become throughout Midnight. Some rewards are intentionally silly, like the secret gravestone that literally asks players to die in Undercity. Others are increasingly serious solo progression, from Azta’rec to Tier 11 farming and the harder Season 2 enemies Blizzard has been actively tuning as players push higher Delve difficulties.
Labyrinths appear to be the next step.
Do Not Assume the Title Will Be Available Later
Because this is PTR information, the requirements can still change before Patch 12.1.5 launches. Blizzard could adjust the difficulty, rename the achievement or modify the time restriction.
But if the current achievement reaches live unchanged, the rule will be simple:
Enter Kindo’jan’s Labyrinth.
Set it to Tier 11.
Go alone.
Finish before the first reset.
Get Fabled Vanquisher of Kindo’jan.
There will be plenty of time to explore Labyrinths casually afterwards.
The title apparently wants to know how you did before everyone learned where the traps are.
