The final October 2026 Trading Post rotation is now live, and Blizzard has leaned heavily into the darker end of the wardrobe. The headline rewards include the Bilebound Ur’zul mount, several spooky horses, Assassin-themed transmog sets, Ranger weapons and one extremely important addition to Warcraft’s ever-growing feline population: the Archmage’s Familiar.
Yes. The wizard cat made it.
The Bilebound Ur’zul Is the Big Mount
The most eye-catching mount this month is undoubtedly the Bilebound Ur’zul, a deeply unpleasant creature in the traditional Warcraft sense of “deeply unpleasant but somehow still something we desperately want in the mount journal.”
It joins The Headless Horseman’s Hallowed Charger, Ghastly Charger and Watcher of the Huntress among October’s mount and pet selection. That gives the month a suitably grim seasonal flavour without turning the entire Trading Post into nothing but pumpkins and skeletons.
The timing also matters because September was expensive. Blizzard’s enormous Trading Post Outlet brought back years of older rewards, while Patch 12.1.5 datamining has already revealed another large wave of future Trading Post cosmetics. Anyone who spent aggressively last month may want to approach October with slightly more financial discipline.
Or not.
There is an Ur’zul.
The Wizard Cat Finally Arrives
The Archmage’s Familiar is likely to become one of October’s most popular smaller rewards. Earlier this year we covered the datamined collection of costume cats coming to the Trading Post, including several magical and faction-themed variants.
At the time, October looked like an obvious destination for some of them because Blizzard had already themed the month around Costumed Calamity.
Now at least one has officially escaped the PTR and reached the vendor.
For collectors who insist they do not care about battle pets, this is another excellent opportunity to continue lying to themselves.
Rogues and Rangers Eat Well This Month
October is especially strong if your transmog tastes involve skulking around dramatically.
The rotation includes Moonlit Assassin’s Attire, Ravenholdt Assassin’s Attire and The Horseman’s Hallowed Collection, alongside Silver Ranger and Dark Ranger quivers and matching bows. There are also multiple painted mask collections inspired by creatures and cultures including Mogu, Sha, witches, Tol’vir and abominations.
The weapon section gets considerably stranger. Katanas, sai and nunchucks sit beside more traditional fantasy swords and Horseman-themed weapons, producing exactly the sort of wardrobe where one player looks like an elite Dark Ranger and the next appears to have wandered in from a Saturday afternoon martial arts film.
The Bonus Reward Is Thornshadow Assassin’s Attire
Completing October’s Traveler’s Log rewards the Ensemble: Thornshadow Assassin’s Attire. Blizzard revealed that reward before the full monthly inventory appeared, describing October as a month of “Costumed Calamity.”
The complete rotation confirms that Blizzard was not being subtle about the theme. The final inventory includes the Bilebound Ur’zul, Archmage’s Familiar, multiple spooky mounts, Assassin ensembles, masks and Halloween-flavoured weapons.
So what should you actually spend your Tender on?
The sensible answer is whatever fits characters you genuinely play.
The less sensible answer is the wizard cat.
We suspect many Azeroth residents will choose option two.
